Once you put it on there is no removing the evidence. If they find it they will send the unit back not fixed. They may not check as it is a hardware fault, but you never know.....
True, I will just move the HBC over to SD. It's in the notes on my account that the user knows or at-least believes the sole problem lies with the fan bearing, bad fan. It would be strange for them to enter the Wii mode, they'd have no reason too. Power the WiiU on, hear the sound, open it up, power it on again, doctor who figures it's the fan, replaces it, put the housing back together, power the unit on, check disk drive boots correctly and all display appears fine? Here's hoping anyway. I'll record a video showing my Wii-U and it's serial to prove it was working 100% before shipping.

Several people (myself included) have sent in Wii U's with homebrew on them and have received a repair (or replacement) without a question. It seems Nintendo is largely unconcerned with/not checking for vWii hacks.

Make sure you don't leave the SD card in. I have heard of cases where they refused to repair Wiis because there was homebrew on the SD card.

If you really want to send it in, then backup data and format the entire system, it'll wipe any hacks/logs on it...it's like a clean slate all over again!

Have you ever done this? I will admit I've never tried wiping my Wii U, but I've read multiple accounts of this still leaving code behind (checkable through the HackMii installer)

Why the hell would you send in a Wii U with the SD card still in?!? And, more importantly, why would they look at whats on your SD card!?!

Damn that case is huge, but is cool.
  • D @ dadadad:
I was installing mods for games, but when I removed the romfs folder, an error occurred. Now when I try to launch the game, I see a yellow screen, and I have to reboot the switch. Reinstalling the game didn't help. Can you advise me on what to do to launch the game without mods?
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    @dadadad delete sd:\atmosphere\contents
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
You should find out from the mod dev how to uninstall it. Every mod is different on how you install/uninstall.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
@The Real Jdbye Wouldn't that take out bunch other stuff also?
  • D @ dadadad:
Is it safe to delete the entire atmosphere folder? I don't remember what else was there, like edizon and tesla menu are installed through atmosphere, is it not a problem, will I not damage the system? There were too many mods, I won’t be able to contact each one, nothing was said about deleting in the description.

The installation was only through rofms and in the game folder in content. What else can I do?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, I already told them about that and yet they make a thread
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Well I'm sure the mods will take care of it.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I took 3 years of Spanish in high school, ages ago but don't remb most of it. Like they say, if you don't use it, you lose it.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, A bit. I only know greetings and some other parts. Its quite an easy language to learn.
