Remote Play isn't really the same as owning the game. Remote Play lags in areas where the Wi-Fi connection is horrible.



..which is why I groan whenever Sony mentions Remote Play being key in Vita's success..

Y'all do realize that there was an official localization in the works for this before SE dumped it because sales of the PSP were crap (because of piracy). It's not like SE was like OH FAN TRANSLATION BETTER USURP THAT AND START OUR OWN. No, they're likely gonna actually use what they had and finish the damn translation. Granted, the HD port will take time, but the upside is that there should be minimal time between JP and EN releases.

If anything, this release is a good thing. Type-0 is an amazing game that more people should experience. If they want to play the PSP original, then they can with the patch. If they want to play the HD version that was officially released, they can. If they want to do both, they can. This only creates more options and more ways to experience Orience, and that is a very good thing.

Seriously guys, the official localization for this game was done two years ago. Orion Acaba, who is voicing Nine in the English version, revealed that he remembers his last day of recording 2 years ago.

They've been sitting on it ever since. They aren't using Sky's translation, they aren't ripping off Sky's translation, they've had their own for two years. Already paid their own localization team. And haven't done anything with it until now.

The only thing people should be upset about is the lack of a Vita announcement.

But the fact they're remaking it to the PS4's and XBONE's specs is fucking brilliant. Something to keep us satiated until XV. The battle system will be somewhat similar as well!

You really think that a company as big as Square-Enix would cheap-out on a measly $10000 to translate a game and then risk an huge mediatic scandal which would let their shares' value PLUMMET causing damages in the high hundreds of thousands?

What you idiots that keep saying Sueenix has been sitting on the translation for years IS EXACTLY WHAT VANILLAWARE DID WITH GKH! It was totally done and ready for release, but they said "fuck it, we got a COMPLETE US version of the game we can release NOW, but we're going to concentrate on Dragon's Crown, because releasing a completed english version we've had since 2010 collecting dust would take a day or two, Americans regard psp as a dying system but even though we can make at least a few million just posting it on PSN, Nawwww.... Fuck it!". Sega did the exact same thing with VC3 too. So come up with a different excuse. They're trying to steal the sunlight from Sky and you KNOW Sony has spies, maybe not in this forum, but definitely in some other forums I wouldn't mention here.

You guys are way too paranoid and are vilifying SE simply because they announced an official localization so soon after the patch released. When in reality, Sky and team bumped the date of release up before E3. Maybe because of the possibility of an announcement?

Perhaps we should stop coming up with conspiracy theories, take off the tin foil hats, and actually discuss the game instead of claiming SE is trying to steal something from the translation team. Going on a witch hunt over nothing isn't going to help anyone.

And Americans regard PSP as a dying system because it actually was. Sales were crap because piracy was so rampant, and SE never released the original localization because they feared that they'd release the game, few people would buy it, and those who did would rip the ISO and upload it, furthering the piracy issue of the system. They considered moving it to Vita, but as of right now that system is no better than the PSP was. Hence PS4. They've been talking about how to release the game here in a way that wouldn't waste their money, and this is how they're doing it. Relax and put down the pitchforks people.

Square releasing this on PS4 also distances it from the PSP version. If you want to play it on the go, use Sky's patch. If you want to play it on your TV, then hey, there's a nice HD version coming. More people get to experience Orience and the tale of Class 0, and that's never a bad thing. At the end of the day, what matters most is that more people get to experience a great game in a format that works for them.

Good point. This is going to sell a hell of a lot more on PS4 alone, let alone including XBone. Plus it'll help the game reach a new audience clamouring for something new to play on their shiny new systems.
