Am I right to assume Windows Loader by DAZ is included in this ISO?

It currently is not. But I'm going to include it in the next release, along with Microsoft Toolkit and RemoveWAT. This will give people different activation options for Windows and Office, as well as let them fix bad activation issues and re-arm their trial periods.

I am currently (at this very moment) configuring a bootable Win 7 PE that might be added in the next release, if all goes well with testing. It only takes up a little over 300 MB of space, so we'll see how this goes and if it makes the final cut.
I redact my former statement above, as I have Mini Windows 7 bootable and working. :D

There's some cool shit going down over here!

I added a 282MB bootable Mini Windows 7 to my MediCat DVD, due out this Winter (Summer for the Southern Hemisphere). This is going to be the most robust and feature-rich version so far, and I'm anxious to release the new version!

Here are some screenshots of it being tested in vmware:

I would stay away from any activation methods, while amazingly helpful in including them you're painting a target on your back. Plus they're easy enough to find anyways.

Also I think gbatemp would remove your post if you did, I'm sure they include copyright code

Maybe an early beta download?
I'm interested in trying your MiniWindows7

I'm actually tempted to, because I hate sitting on a 99% completed product, when I'm just waiting for Mint 17.1 to release in December. (I also have yet to put together the new changelog)

Alright, you guys talked me into it. I'll release a "beta" in a day or two, I just need to get the changelog together, upload the ISO, calculate the MD5 sum, take new screenshots, etc...

I'll bump this thread when it's released in the OP.

Not directly related to this thread, but I've been wanting something lately and you seem like the kind of guy who would know if it is possible or not.

What I want is basically a bootable, command-line utility that I can use to 'dd' a clean 1:1 image back to a drive. It would be great if it could do it automatically - i.e. make an emergency flash drive for mum that in case she ever totally fucks up Windows she can just plug the USB drive in and *bam* writes back a perfectly functioning copy of the disk that I made the day I set it up.

Anyone? Just me? Just my mum?

You could probably just install a bare minimal linux and just add a script at boot for that...you could probably even fork that script to do dd in the background (though it may or may not be useful)...and then a copy of the image if you have enough space. This kind of leaves the computer dead in the water for a couple hours while it slowly completes. That is why having a full live CD is kind of convenient because you don't HAVE to just leave it there, but you can still derp around on the internet or something if you wanted.

I've decided that the remaining few hundred megabytes left on the disc will be used for driverpacks, like WLAN and SATA drivers. This Mini Windows 7 will also allow you to import the drivers over from the Windows installation of the host PC you're running it on, which is super convenient. Most Vista/7/8 drivers should be inter-compatible with Mini 7, but if not, you can also install any Win7 drivers you see fit if my included drivers aren't enough.

The v10.19.2014 Beta release is ready, but due to my slow internet connection, it's going to take a few hours to upload the completed ISO.

I will update the OP on page 1 when the ISO is uploaded! :)

v10.19.2014 changelog:

- Removed "Windows Defender" ISO, as it was replaced by Avira and Avast in Mini Windows 7
- Removed "Reset User Passwords" ISO in the Windows Recovery menu, as it was replaced by similar applications in Mini Windows 7
- Added Memtest86+ v4.3.5 and Memtest86+ v5.01 to Diagnostic Tools menu
- Added support URL to the F1 "About" page, URL takes you to page 1 of this thread
- Added "MediCat DVD Help Thread" desktop shortcut in Mini Windows 7, which also takes you to page 1 of this thread
- Fixed "Boot 1st Harddisk" entry from "localboot hdd0" to "localboot 0x80", which now boots hdd0 as it should
- Fixed minor design inconsistencies in the Linux Mint menu

Mini Windows 7 changes:
- Made an HD MediCat Wallpaper that fits any monitor size up to 2560x1440, without losing aspect ratio
- Integrated Driverpacks for Chipset, Mass Storage, LAN, WLAN, and GPU from Driverpacks.net directly into 7.WIM, to get majority of important hardware working automatically upon bootup.
- Updated 3DP_Chip to v14.9
- Updated 7zip to v9.34 alpha
- Updated Ammyy Admin to v3.5
- Updated Avira and Avast definitions to their latest as of Oct 6th, 2014
- Updated BOOTICE to v1.3.2
- Updated Bulk Rename Utility to v2.7.1.3
- Updated CloneSpy to v3.13

- Updated DTaskManager to v 1.53
- Updated DriveImage XML to v2.50
- Updated DSynchronize to v2.30.6
- Updated Everything to v1.3.4.686
- Updated Explore2fs to v1.08 beta 9
- Updated GPU-Z to v0.7.9
- Updated HDClone to v5.0.6
- Updated HiJackThis to it's latest as of Oct 16th, 2014
- Updated HitmanPro to it's latest as of Oct 16th, 2014

The final release will be "The Big One", because updating and maintaining what's on the disc in future releases will be easy. :)

P.S.:
Mediafire decided to apparently pretend to upload my ISO, because when it was done on the web interface, it never showed up under MyFiles. I'm now using their Mediafire Desktop app to do the syncing for me, so expect a link soon.

Meanwhile, check out the new info and screenshots in the OP: www.tinyurl.com/medicatdvd

Any news on USB edition ?

No, but I have faith that somebody can get this booting on USB somehow, I'm just not smart enough to know the proper menu commands. I don't have to boot into GRUB anymore to launch any ISOs, so I think USB conversion should be possible, somehow. Worse case scenario, you could pull off the bootable ISO you need off the disc, and boot that from USB.

Once I launch the stable version in Winter, I will have time to dedicate towards the USB edition. I'm always looking forward to meeting people willing to help me with the USB chainloading.
