Good Afternoon All,
So I have been using my Buffalo 1TB hard drive for a fair few years now without any issues. I recently plugged the wii in after a long hiatus.
The hard drive has been recognised without an issue for ages (formatted to FAT 32, used on the 'bottom' / 'right' port).
I had not used the wii for a while (a couple of years) and plugged it in a few months ago and it has been working until this weekend. I then read that you can now load GC backups off the hard drive and attempted (operative word here) to follow this tutorial:
http://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-play-gamecube-games-off-a-usb-hdd.329628/
After following the tutorial the games on my hard drive are not recognised. The drive itself shows up in the settings of USB Loader GX.
I have attempted the following:
1. Updating USB Loader GX to the latest version.
2. Trying different ports when setting the USB port to '0', '1' and 'both'.
3. Updating the cIOSs for 249 (base 56) and 250 (base 57) using dx2 installer.
4. As above, using versions 6 through to 10 of dx2.
5. Changing the IOS in USB Loader GX to 249, 250 and 222 (same result on all three; hard drive is detected but no games visible).
6. I have tried USB Loader CFG (for normal USB Loader) I get an error that states something along the lines of "Partition: Auto failed". It then says select partition (which is shown as the first option on the list "#1: 936GB") It says press A to select but this does nothing.
7. I've also tried modding the wii from scratch using ModMii but the issue still prevails.
Looking into it I believe it's an issue with my cIOSs (I've clearly ballsed something up here).
I will post a SysCheck when I get home tonight.
Anyone got some suggestions of what I could try to resolve the issue?
Thanks in advanced,
Knotty.
