Is not dead yet.. i mean, is like 3DS, gateway only works with the 4.5 or something... and the Wii U will only work with the 4.1.0 that's all xD

Which is asinine, because a lot of people were told updating was safe by Crediar and a few others and that the webkit could still be patched. I mean, ah...ah screw it.

>exploit released
>scene dead
Nice oxymoron.

>Nintendo patches webkit,

>only exploit found will only work with anything below 5.0.0 firmware after being told by Crediar and other hackers that it's safe and that there are still vulnerabilities in webkit

>Wii U hacking limited to 4.1.0 consoles, 3DS scene all over again

Could you elaborate on how it's NOT dead?

'only exploit found' is far from true. Like, really really really far. I imagine nearly every person or group of people who've made something like this have used a different exploit.

What's actually killing it is people having lots of talk like this instead of playing around with what we have. We can do a LOT with what we've got here, we just need competent people working toward that goal.

I guess that's the kind of reassurance I needed, and apparently the more deeper exploit (or exploit) is even more difficult to patch, it just pisses me off that some turd decided to release an older, incomplete patch just because he could. Mostly because of what happened to the 3DS scene, I wasn't hopeful with the Wii U hacking scene.

That's the point, anybody important/skilled enough who cared enough to be working on this already had access.

Problem is many of these people are too pusillanimous to release it due to unsubstantiated piracy-related fears I'm sure.

Not necessarily. I mean, personally I just rounded a couple of people up to play around with this and develop our own sorta hacking toolkit.

The hell? You mean not all is lost after all? And yes, I realize that Crediar and a few others have stated that only part of the Webkit was patched in 5.0.0. not the entirety.

but seriously the randomizer, you're acting like it being leaked on this firmware will make nintendo be able to patch it on already released firmware... 5.0 is already out, nintendo cant patch it so nothing is stopping it from being hacked.

Well, here's what this means guys: 5.0 is the last firmware update you can safely update to. Anything after this, you better stay far away from if you want to use Homebrew in the future.

I'm both for and against this leak. It gives me proof that something is actually in the works (Which I love), but at the same time, leaks are never a good thing if they aren't a finished, usable product.

Any games have the 4.10 firmware? I never updated my wii u.

Mario Kart 8.

So, I want to know if I need to kill myself, I'm in 5.0, this update supposed to don't kill the scene, but the exploit is for 4.1.0, and you are saying there won't be any exploits in the future, so, It would be possible to hack the Wii U on 5.0.0? I would never, never, NEVER! update again, sorry for this, but I really want homebrew on my Wii U...

Just stay on 5.0, many trustworthy people on the scene have already confirmed that it is a safe move updating to 5.0.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.
