Nope, the PS4 is more powerful than the Xbox1, a significant amount more too.
Weird, because before the release i kept on seeing stuff on IGN and Reddit that the 2 are using almost the same hardware (seems like, as usual, I get my info from websites that shouldn't be taken too seriously).

As for the OP at hand, it's heavily misleading. The game is 792p, yes, temporarily. This is going to be corrected with a subsequent patch to the game because we live in the 21st century and can do that now. I quote the Lead Engineer Richard Barker:

Now, to translate this from technobabble to a language understandable to the average forum-goer, currently the game is Multisample Anti-Aliased which causes a significant hit on performance, however creates high-quality visuals. Yes, the game is 792p, but that doesn't mean that it's jagged, it features heavy Anti-Aliasing.

The development team had to reach the release window and didn't want to delay the release on the console (hello, Ubisoft!) so they released the build as-is and are currently experimenting with other Anti-Aliasing methods as well as utilizing the built-in ESRAM and parallelizing the game code to better suit the XBox One. Right now, as it stands today, the game does not take advantage of the multicore environment it runs in very well and most of the strain is on the GPU - this will change after a post-release patch. Welcome to the future, where developers can fix your game post-release.

Long story short, the state of matters is not permanent, it was rather a matter of giving you guys the opportunity to play the game when it was promised rather than moving the target release date, the game is still actively worked on to become more optimized for a console environment.

They have hardware from the same families, but it's still customized. The XBox One's CPU frequency is higher (1.75 GHz on the XBox One versus 1.6 GHz in the PS4), it has a weaker GPU structure (12 + 2 dormant CU's in the XBox One versus 18 + 2 dormant CU's in the PS4 and 16 ROP units in the XBox One versus 32 ROP units in the PS4) and uses 8GB DDR3 RAM plus embedded 47MB on-die ESRAM while the PS4 uses 8GB GDDR5 RAM. On top of that you have the customized add-ons for each system. Both solutions have their pro's and con's, but the point is that they are different.

As tempting as it is to drop the ol' SarcasticThumbsUpJenniferLawrence.gif, I do have to ask... why is the lack of a real single player bad? It's an online multiplayer shooter that focuses on being an online multiplayer shooter first and foremost. How is that anything but a good thing?

Would Team Fortress 2 be any better with a tacked-on campaign? Is Natural Selection 2 worthless without a contrived narrative and a string of QTEs?

To be fair single digit framerates go beyond the "jagged edges umplayable omg". I've seen someone play League of Legends at a constant 8FPS and while it can be done it's not pleasant at all.

I know. I assume that they will have to lower the resolution below 792p in order to get a decent framerate, which could mean jaggies.

Lead Engineer of the actual game said:
"The target is either 1080p non-anti-aliased or 900p with FXAA. We're still looking at it for post-day one. We're likely to increase resolution after we ship."
I'd say they'll simply switch to FXAA (Anti-Aliasing the processed frame instead of individual models) or disable Anti-Aliasing altogether. They're not planning to lower the resolution. Either way, MSAA is going to be disabled in the game soon.

Gimmicks anyone? i don't see why it matters anyways in 6 months there will be a new PEW PEW game that everyone goes crazy over and this will be left in the dust...with empty servers and NO SINGLE PLAYER.

It's sad this game will massively outsell Dark Souls II.

Just because something is a "standard" doesn't mean that it is a good fit for every single game. After all, endlessly repeating levels used to be the standard, too. Does that mean games that break away from that model are lesser for it?

If a game is built exclusively around multiplayer and the singleplayer adds nothing to the experience, why bother? Better no singeplayer than a shitty, tacked-on mode that nobody would play or care about anyway. Honestly, I'm perfectly down with less single player titles if that means more purely multiplayer-focused games. It's not like there can only be one type of game in town here; single player is never going to go away for good.

Besides, what's wrong with multiplayer anyway? These games are designed to be played for 10's, if not 100's, of hours with friends and strangers alike, with everyone enjoying their own, unique experience. What's so fundamentally wrong about that? Does the concept of fun offend you?

I Bought the pc version and I have a

Geforce GTX 650 TI superclocked 1 gig version cost me 150 bucks months ago
8 Gigs of ram and a AMD FX 6300 CPU

After hours of testing I can a contant 55-60 frames per second with these setting

This Neogaf manbaby, pixel-counting culture spilling over to gbatemp is a really depressing thing to witness. You would think titanfall sucks based these idiots obsessing over the wrong statistics. [87,73] Guess which game, Shadowfall or Titanfall, got the higher metacritic score in those brackets ... but pixels are the best. ;-;

And please don't give the 'metacritic sucks' defense when using dots to judge a game's success.

The game is great played the beta now playing the retail version its not a generic shooter check out the reviews also anyone wanna play on origin ?

Consider this - maybe this game just isn't for you?

Star fox was fully playabe at just 10 - 15 fps, whats wrong with people these days?

Really, this is BS, if the developers cant get the game running at a decent frame rate they need to make other adjustments, ie lower graphic quality somewhere but just throw it out with obvious flaws. 720p, although I often argue is all we'll ever need for home computing, should be a breeze on the current gen.
