Anyway I'd suggest getting a gateway before Nintendo shuts down the whole show. Why? Ever see what Cartier, Gucci, Lacoste, etc do in China? sure you can still get this stuff because there's multiple places making it but Gateway is the only flash cart available and nobody has cloned it. If there was a clone market it would be more difficult to shut down. All Nintendo would have to do is the same as the European brands. They send a team of lawyers over to Shenzhen and set up an office and work from there until their business there is done.
I have seen some high quality replica products ship out of China whose companies virtually don't exist any more. Lacoste, for example, silently snuffed out a really high end apparel business over there which you used to be able to buy nearly 1:1 quality replicas of their shirts from. But now at least I know where to buy the genuine from, still costs 2x as much as the copy but hey.. not that bad of a price. Once a company gets in Guangdong (Neo Industrialized China, aka "experimental Capitalism zone") deep enough and likewise has deep pockets, they can get anything done at their command. I'm just amazed Nintendo didn't do this with a lot of things. I think they aren't too big on paying lawyers and such to combat piracy, rather they hire personnel to try to and don't do much else. It is probably just another one of those long time Japanese business strategies that is hard to break loose from.
ok ya he said it a lot. No need to start making fun of him. Grow up, this isn't middle school.
Grow up? He's clinging onto this like a small child. Letting it go would be the grown up thing to do. We all know he accidentally updated. I have read this, perhaps, 100 times already, across multiple threads. I don't need to read it again. Typing it again and again and again and again and again won't change it.
He accidentally updated. We all know this. God help us, we all know this.
You have made your point. Now please let it go.

I would say if you want to get on the 3DS exploit train you better get a 4.5 unit before they dry up or start selling for double on ebay because it may take a good long while if ever before they hack anything after 4.5 (was never done on PS3 after 3.55 or jtag for X360 after 7371)
Like Emo kid said.
You also wouldn't like it if we responded that way towards you.
360 is fully exploitable now.
Regardless of Dash version.
Xenon R-JTAG needs to be released but Zephyrs, Falcons, Jaspers, Trinities and all Corona versions are hackable (Kernel hack) ;]
consider my mind blown by this news. NAND backup! Are you serious!!! This is just insane. I thought we were doomed to hardware mods for this at least for the next 6 months or so. Gateway has totally rocked the boat on this one. WOW
Really when you look at it Nintendo in general has taken a much less aggresive approach on combating piracy than their compeditors M$ and $ony have.....I mean M$ did the whole x360 ban thing a lot and ban hammered lots of the DVD drive modders right into submission....once people got banned they bought and new box and then out of fear of losing their COD and Halo crack fix just went straight.....$ony is update happy and updates PS3, PSP, and Vita about 1 day after anything gets exploited...they have calmed down now that PSP was end of life and PS3 was totally pawned with 4.x decryption and CFW....also $ony went all ape shit on GeoHot and did everything short of taking a hit out on the guy when all he did was released what he knew and never made a dime off it.
Meanwhile Nintendo never really did that much to try to resecure the GB/GBA or DS after flash carts were super prevelant....you can't tell me they couldn't have made hardware modifications to make things hard on the flash cart companies? They pretty much gave up on locking down Wii after it was soft hacked and even now with the vWii mode hacked on WiiU they don't even reload the IOSes on a WiiU system update (atleast making you have to re-mod the vWii mode)......Truthfully piracy isn't hurting Nintendo that badly directly....I mean they sold 150mil DS and 100mil Wii and then their games sell in the millions or even 10s of millions. More than anything I think it hurts niche 3rd party companies like Altus and this may be one more reason why 3rd parites are not overly friendly to Nintendo systems.....right now I think Gateway is a pimple on their ass...if gateway has sold even 100K units I would be shocked to death and the 3DS user base is over 30mil units.....that would be .003% of your user base pirating....hardly worth investing a lot of effort to stop.

Nintendo is also very japanese. Japanese culture isn't overtly aggressive in this sense today, they want people to make changes themselves instead of using the US method of just smashing through their 'opponents.'
Sony has sort of been flip-floppy so they are somewhere between Microsoft and Nintendo on the issue.
Microsoft of course is the worst of them. In fact, it gives a person the biggest social/psychological incentive to rip them off because if you believe of them as 'the bad guy' then pirating from them doesn't make you feel any guilt.

It costs a lot of $$$$ ca$h to fight piracy especially if you bring in third party lawyers. They are MONEY. And if the person has no potential to pay the fees that were paid to the lawyers, they can lose hundreds of thousands to upwards of millions of dollars which basically gets gobbled up by a big or small law firm.
Indeed the US dropped 2 nukes on Japan but it was Russia that they feared and Russia ultimately won the war in the Pacific. Likewise if you squash out all the R4 and such manufacturing in China, they'll just move it all to Russia. I can guarantee you on that.
