Can i ask something?
Will my nintendo 3ds bricked?

Is there any potential my 3ds will get bricked by nintendo? because i once inserted my R4 3DS card into it and when i opened the R4 it said "an error has occured ........" but at that time i am not connected to any wifi neither set up any connections yet. If I connect my 3ds to wifi now, is it possible that my 3ds will be bricked? thank you (:

You can connect it to the internet without it being bricked. Nothing weird will happen. The error just means the 3DS refuses to run the flashcart, nothing more and nothing less.

Technically, it MIGHT be possible, but as far as I know it has never happened to anyone, and considering how long the 3DS is out now, it's probably safe to say it will never happen.

Of course it is. It flat out says that they can in the terms of service that no one reads.

I highly doubt they actually will do it, but they definitely can.
yeah, i've read the terms and the one who sold it to me once said "Do not connect it to wifi or the 3ds cannot play pirated games" i don't mind buying the game actually. But since i've had inserted a 3ds R4 to play DS games in it (and remove it fastly after i inserted it), i'm so scared to connect my 3ds to wifi. oh btw my 3ds software version is 4.4.0-10.U which version that has 'anti-piracy' thing. But I want to play multiplayer in MH3U. goddd TT_TT should i connect it to internet?

Honestly, I'm on a newer version than you are, I use a DSTWO all the time (even online) and I've never had any issues. So you're probably fine.

I run a super card DSTWO on 6.2.0-12E and I play online without any problems, with the flashcard or with original MK7 game.
However, you have the version which can run Gateway so it's up to you.
I did update mine from 4.4.0 to 6.2.0 and now I'm sad because I'll have to buy another one if I want to taste gateway experience.

Nintendo will not brick any 3DS system because it's illegal, they will not ban it either because the infrastructure they built does not support doing so. They will also not ban your account because unlike everybody else in the universe they still haven't created an account system.

tl;dr read the first page of the thread, it answers all your questions.

I don't believe the 3DS implements e-fuses, so any brick would probably be done via NAND; If you happened to do a NAND dump you could probably recover with no ill effects.

People have successfully dumped at 4.x, updated to 5.x, and then restored the 4.x dump, so we can assume there's not much hardware protection versus that either.

Guys,

Now it's impossible for me to read the 38 pages of this topic but, can you confirm that this strange kind of "remote bricking" never happened to anyone ?

I will receive my DSTWO next week and I want to be sure!

Thankssss

It's all in the second post, the rest is just discussion. Nintendo's never bricked anybody.

Sorry didn't notice that ! Thank you!

However is there any particolar precaution to be taken while using a DSTWO wuth active WiFi connection ? (For example disactivate the sendig of informations or automatic download in the spotpass menu ?)
