OK ive been pulling my hair out over this crap for days now, and it just turns out that switching to windows 8 works! there must be something missing from my windows 7 install, does anyone know what is required for this program to function correctly? i prefer my 7 install is all

If I dump the NAND on the 4.4 XL I just got and update both my 3DS XL systems, I should be able to do a system transfer and keep my downloaded games on my 4.4 XL, right?

I succeeded to make a good few proper dumps of my (original) 3ds nand.
But it doesn't seem to turn on anymore, it only shows me a blue screen with code on it when booting. (And having the SD Card reader disconnected from the hot plug, ofcourse)

See my posts:

and

Could I go and attempt to solder (bake/hot air) a new nand chip on my 3DS and restore the nand dump on that chip?
Or would it even be possible to make the 3DS boot from the SD card, as they aren't very different except for speed.

Or is there anything I might have overlooked that would explain this issue?

Edit:
Does the CPU hold the console-key?
Or is something else preventing from restoring a nand dump on a other 3DS.
Because if the 3DS isn't fixable, I may could in that case buy a new one and switch out the necessary components, and restore my NAND that way.
(Although that did be to much work and a risk..)

I actually think that same thing happened to my 3DSAQUA which has now been parted. i double checked all my wiring and it was perfect so I wonder if there is a issue in this process with the older 3DS and a certain NAND chip

experiment with 3ds (first) dump 1.0 firmware update to 6.2
and downgrade back all work for me (dont know how it needed but after write i use SAFE EJECT of drive)

make some research and yes it amazing how N make 2 same consoles with diffrents blocks of data (no block is the same)
what i did
have two 3ds byu it same time long time ago
one with 6.2 firmware and it update every N update
second 3ds leave 1.0 firmware (like i said before i update it to 6.2 and back again)
make format nand for both 3ds and have 2 nands with 6.2 firmware without any information about users etc
and try to compare it (no luck.... nothing similar)

I am going to backup mine nand soon, but I came up with a few questions :
why does the 3ds show the blue screen instead of just running normally when a sd is adapted?
Why couldn't the nand of the xbox360 readed this way? I had to buy a nandx or jrunner for that

why is it that windows always wants to format my 3dsxl as it does not recognize its format? its just that no one else seems to come across this, ive atempted this over a couple of weeks now and still no luck, ive even change sd card readers and went out and brought more appropriate wire and redid and rechecked.... one thing i have noticed is under windows disk management it does say drive H unknown 950MBs...

Try a different windows version/pc ?
Try de/reinstalling your SD Card readers driver.
Try using your Laptops/PCs built in SD card reader.
Try a different USB based SD Card reader.
Check your wiring on the SD Adapter.

your wires seem awfully long. Other than that: it looks fine. 950MB seems also okay. I have no Windows, but how about ignoring the 'format' message (which might be just default, if Windows does not recognize the partition format) and go ahead with the disk dumping?

Anyone from the US that's trustworthy enough and has successfully installed this mod onto a 3DS XL want to install one on my XL? I'd cover shipping, and pay you of course.

I guess the wires are a bit long do you think i could be loosing some current? i was really just trying to estimate the same length in pics from the German site. Also i don't want to format in-case it deletes the brains from my 3dsxl, but i have ignored the format message and tried to go ahead as normal pick the correct drive letter and then its a dead end because it thinks its blank...
