Is it safe to assume that support for 5.x/6.x is being worked on or if it will be worked on in the future? I would really love to have one of these despite my uh, mistake I made on the 3DS

maybe. but being worked on and actually getting it to work are two totally different things. You could just get a cheap 4.5 3ds from craigslist or amazon while they are still available

Hmmm....dammit.... and I just spent money on a trade at Gamestop for a 3DS XL....I wouldn't even know if the one I get from Craislist has that version, besides, I like the XL better

I'll stop bothering you guys about it, but yeah, it seems many of those who effed their 3DS by updating it accidentally are boned

You can ask the seller on craigslist/amazon what firmware its on. I got a 4.5 xl from amazon. If you can get the money then I would recommend trying to get a 4.5 xl

I know that feeling. I updated an old xl of mine(it was broken so i had to get a new one) from 4.5 to 5.0 just because i wanted to test my flashcart.... Ya its not a good feeling. But don't worry too much. If there is a way then I'm sure the gateway team will figure it out.

I bought it, but from a trade from my old 3DS (which wasn't on 4.5) and paid the difference. Are all XL's (including the black one) on 4.5 by default? The used and new prices aren't that different, but I wonder if they'd let me trade for a red XL or Black. Will give them a call

Edit: Damn, I wouldn't get full credit; $120 would be the most I get, meaning I'd be out $80...bollocks. This sucks big time Notta chance in hell for us poor saps who are on 6.x.
