I do like how this game has developed such a community already, it's only been out a week here in the UK and already there's whole message boards devoted to the exchange of turnip prices, furniture exchange, etc. Love to go back in time to when I was five, playing on a Commadore 64 that needed 24 hours notice to load anything, tell that lonely me all about how in the future there will be other people to play with....not like I'm bitter or emotionally stunted or anything. Badger.

For here. Indeed. Even in 3DSforums. A forum completely dedicated to the game.
As for A community for the entire series, it exists since the GC days. XD

EDIT: Does anyone here have an astro closet?

I was stumbling across some Nintendo Life forums, when I discovered that the original Animal Crossing for Gamecube was actually an N64 port of Animal Forest, a game only released in Japan at the end of the N64's life cycle.

This is a screenshot of me playing the game with an English translation patch.

uh, help with the shiz i got from the island?

Why cant i take any of it with me, and why do they pay like shiz for it?

You get paid peanuts by the little girl on the island, I assume she has some purpose but I just ignore her. Put anything you want to bring back with you in the basket next to the counter and it'll appear in the basket on the docks, thus enabling you to bring things back from the island and rake in the cash by selling sharks and rare beetles to Reece.

Yeah, easy way to make a few grand is to borrow the bug net and fishing rod, catch beetles and sharks. If none have spawned, go inside then right back out, will refresh the critters. Best time to go is about 7PM. You seem to find more rare stuff then. Take a full basket of rare beetles and sharks back, sell them all to Reece and you can pay for most stuff pretty much instantly. Not bad for a simple 1,000 Bell outlay per trip.

Ok well, how does one go about catching one of these fabled sharks ive heard about?

When you're fishing you've no doubt noticed that different fish cast different shadows. Every now and then one with a fin will show up. Catch it like any other fish and if you're lucky it'll be a shark. They sell for about 13-15k a pop at Re-Tail, so a basket full of them might take a while to get but you'll make a killing. Like I said, if there are no sharks, run into the building and out again, repeat until one shows up.

You might want to try catching the beetles that land on the trees too, the bigger ones are worth as much as sharks.
