I think it would be kind of a waste, since the 3DS can play DS games. I would rather see 3DS sequels to awesome DS games, personally.

That said, I would make an exception for Super Mario 64 DS. That game was just flat-out choked to death by the hardware it ran on. DS just wasn't a good enough to run truly unhindered N64 ports, plain and simple.

And hey, we DID get Cave Story as an eShop download for the 3DS just a week ago, despite there already being a DSi version, and that turned out fine. So it's not like this idea is unheard of.

Zelda titles would have a huge benefit from this.
Changing from touch-screen to analog would make a drastic gameplay change,
and I think a lot of people would like this change.
I actually already had that idea. :O

Am I the only one who likes to use the touch screen on Zelda? The game was completely based on touch screen control, it was easy to pick up items you liked, it was fun drawing the boomerang trajetory, it is way cooler attacking with the touch screen than in previous portable zeldas, you could made notes. Why doesn' people see the advantages of stylus control? :P
I am against making a circle pad version of a DS Zelda since it was designed to work with these controls, it would be just as terrible as they did with Super Mario 64 DS without a real analog :hateit:

"and devs are lazy these days"
I hate that lie.

Devs aren't lazy, we actually have our hands full on one project, all the time.
And what's a better break, than remaking an already existing game?
I mean, you won't need to have an idea for a whole new game, just new elements.

Final Fantasy remake collection would be nice. All the DS FF remakes with the visual improvements of the iOS version and 3D.

There's no mistery to adding 3d in 2d games, you just give each layer some level of depth. The problem with this method is that in some 2d games there are objects that have a part as sprites and the other part drawn on a layer. This is most noticeable in the eshop version of Cave Story, where there are many things that feel in the wrong depth.

Really? I'm playing the eShop version of Cave Story right now, and it looks fine to me, depth-wise. I heard the retail 3D remake had that problem though, and it doesn't even use sprites.

There are many things like one object hanged by a cord, but the cord is behind the object 3dwise and stuff like that. The best example I remember is when you enter the one of the houses in the beginning of the games there is a lit fireplace, since the fire is a sprite and the rest of the border of the fireplace is drawn on the layer it seems the fire is out of the fireplace... and since the fire is the same layer as the character, I thought it could cause me damage so I avoided it for a while until I realised there was no need to. But these depth problems makes the game better looking imo. :P

Come to think of it, you're right... the fire shouldn't be sticking out. lol. I noticed that, but I didn't think it was a problem until you mentioned it.
