Team Fail is probably right. The equipment and software is so openly available to hackers that it wouldn't make since if a way to play backups wasn't already available. They would be smart to not release it though, to prevent ninty from interfering.

Also, to add to that, people should stop criticizing hackers and their work. Unless you are contributing, than you have nothing to brag about.

I'm not saying I don't believe that Neimod has made progress, I'm saying that an upside-down screen of a 3DS with nothing else is really just a pointless picture.
It depends on the source. If I see a Youtube video claiming a 3ds hack without any add'l hardware and the source is an unknown who has restricted voting and deletes any negative comments, I'm not going to believe them regardless of what I see. But for a reputable source who has a reputation to think about, and who would be excoriated if he lied to us, even a crappy picture would be more than enough to convince me. It's only logical. If this was a new forum member posting the picture it would be one thing, but for a reputable source who has been known for his advances in the industry for quite awhile to come out with this information, I am more likely to believe him.

This topic should be deleted. Crown3ds didn't gave us any reasonable proof of their work on 3DS system. It's obvious that they have some other interests.
Some other people deserves much more attention than some fakey project. For example, Neimod from 3dbrew.org has shared some impressive photos of his hard work on finding an exploit in 3DS system.
Moderators/admins of this forum should consider if this topic really deserves one hundred pages :(
The fact that enough people have decided to post here is evidence that it "deserves" one hundred pages. This website is funded by advertisements, and if a thread--however potentially ridiculous--happens to bring in more users and more ad revenue, it is the responsible thing for the thread to be allowed to prosper. The thread link is only about twenty vertical pixels on your screen as you scroll down the list of threads--feel free to pass it up if you'd like.

I am, however, interested in these photos and what they may mean.

It's the fact hat the screen is ON with it hooked up to a SRAM board that makes it important.
But the picture with it turned on doesn't SHOW the SRAM board..
A full picture would be much more interesting.
I agree, but right now, we just have to sit back and watch or get involved and help.

Did anyone (besides me) increase the brightness of the picture to see if the buttons below the touch screen are visible? It seems they aren't, but there's a texture difference in the lower right corner of the image, like a carpet (which would prove the 3DS is in an upright position). Use Paint.NET and the brightness/contrast settings of +68/+26.

I just did now... that texture change is interesting. Makes me think the 3DS might be right side up... However, I don't think flipping the screen is what he was trying to accomplish.

When commenting there, there's an empty field for you to post a website. So when you post, your name will function as a link if you choose to leave one. That's why his name is colored. He's no admin, there are others with links attached to their names in the comments as well (and colored). I could do the same and link to the official crown3ds site via my username and pretend i'm a team member. The real site aren't going to have admins or even staff post on the fake site after discrediting it on their own web page.

It's obvious the .net site is fake, best to completely avoid it. They've proven they're trying to scam people and have been thoroughly debunked. Looks like now they don't even intend to release a FAKE flashcard, i'm going to assume they were just looking for attention or hits. I'm definitely not trying to say the .com site is real either of course, but i digress.

why must they do this, what is the point in crown 3ds, there site has no updates and no information released and is nothing more than hope for the desperate who want a flashcart for homebrew and so they dont have to pay for there games. Crown is never going to exists, i don't know what the point was but it has never progressed past the one video they posted donkeys ago.

I think that a flashcart probably is in the cards this year but the system still has not been exploited.
