I hate the bird... I hate birds in general but flying that dang bird is like fishing in any other Zelda; I just can't get the hang of it.... Sometimes the colors are way too bright it's disturbing; it's like when I'm looking at my cell phone for hours viewing rss feeds and I look away my eyes hurt and things get a bit blurry. Still the bird is the worse part of this game to me at least.

First off, I loved most zelda's, even Wind Waker.

I played SS for 2 hours and got extremely bored. It's not the story, not the controls, not the 3 hour cut-scenes.
...but the combination of them.

Maybe I should pick it up again.

I liked WM+ I didn't have to point awkwardly at my TV all day Flying was still a waste of time, but not as bad a Wind Waker. IMHO

Nothing can be worse than the boat in WW (ok, mayyybe spirit tracks, but I havnt really played that much).
You have to travel such huge distances and have to constantly mess with the wind >_>

likes:
:) everything in 1 town no having to run around all over to buy this and that
:) the world map is like 1 huge dungeon
:) upgrading your items and searching for crafts to make them kinda feels like rune factory and thats a good thing
:) the motion sword controls work really well
:) lots of side quests always a good thing
:) lots of secrets and hidden stuff
:) later on you lose all your stuff and have to sneak around behind the shadows to get it back

Hates
:( Flying is so god damn slow and the motion controls make it worse I just love throwing my wrist back and forth to flap...
:( Motion controls are used in shit their not needed for like flying and swimming
:( Stupid gimmicks such as mine carts, note hunting and the tear drop hunting. Shit like this does not belong in a zelda game leave it in games like ratchet and klank or sly where it belongs!
:( Having to fight the imprisoned 3 times is just stupid and annoying
:( You can't skip text and or cut scenes and for some annoying reason it has to tell you what you have picked up even after you know what it is again and again
:( FI leaves navi for dead anyday for being the most annoying, useless character in the whole zelda series. Master you have to go here 85% no shit i figured that out already and it's always 100% you dumb bitch...your batts are running down SHUT THE FUCK UP!
:( Goddess cubes literately took all the fun out of discovering chests and hearts i don't want to know exactly where they are i want to find them on my own!

after playing through it once i've decided i never want to play it again just like phg and st.

Ohh, look, you found a ruby ! read all the text again .... in case you forgot what a ruby does. :whip:

That and the controls, but it's more the design of the wiimote's giroscope/accelerometer loosing it's position in space after some fast moves.
It's not the game fault, it's just maybe it's too early for that technology to work correctly and accurately.

i like the controls. tho when it gets down to it, a quick waggle does a better job than a calculated swing.

i hate the dialogue. is there a cheat to skip them quicker? i can feel my life slowly slipping away as the text box fill slowly with dumb ass dialogue.

Excuse me, but are you doing THIS.

ROFL!!!

Anyhow...I'm nowhere near the end (probably not even half way), but the dialogue is the only gripe for me. Yes...so...it's...a...bug. Boy...do...I...like...putting...it...in...my...pouch...slowly...every...frigging...time...I...start...a...new...gaming...session.

I'm also glad I missed most of the spoiler movies, as it sure throws a lot of that unskippable text at you. Am I the only one who thought "FINALLY, Zelda gets kidnapped. Now let's get to friggin' adventuring already!" ?

That friggin' adventuring is friggin' sweet, though. :)
Nice level design, fun quests, not too hard or too easy. I see I'm not the only one who has to unlearn button bashing/wiimote flailing, but I see that as a plus: you actually have to use your wiimote CORRECTLY for a change.

Erm. Spoiler alert? LoL But I liked everything, this felt very much like a new game, ahead of its time (even though its in the past?) and should be a one off.

Except Fi was actually useful.
I'd rather get told that my Wiimote battery is low than to find out at the wrong time.

Sometimes she was Captain Obvious, but a lot of the time the stuff she said was actually useful.

Something I forgot to mention: Skyward Sword repeated a mistake that Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks did: You cannot actually walk around on a big field and are restricted to flying in an open area and specific "under-the-sky" area.

It was fine in Wind Waker, because it was the first time they did this (And also the fact that Hyrule was drowned in Wind Waker.)
When they released Phantom Hourglass, it at least made some sense because it was supposed to be a sequel to Wind Waker.

Apart from that, Spirit Tracks repeated this, except they used a train on land, while Skyward Sword used a bird in the sky.
The games are still very enjoyable, though. I don't get people that hate on the DS games because of that.
As for Skyward Sword, the pros largely outweighs the cons.

I think Skyward Sword managed to be on-par with Majora's Mask.

Oh, and about the $8 bin at Wal-Mart...
There was The Orange Box, Oblivion and Fallout 3 in there the other day.

Twilight Princess did something similar.
Whenever we continued playing after quitting, we'd get told "You found a blue Rupee! It's worth 5 rupees." each time.

Haven't beat the game yet, but love every minute of it. So far I really like the fight against Koloktos, it was hilarious, my friend was laughing his ass off when he saw me pick up its sword and owning him with it. My first reaction to that was the 2nd transformers movie where Optimus was beating Starscream with his own arm XP

Swimming for tadpoles is probably one of the worst experiences I've ever had playing a video game. Motion controls are an absolute failure

I personally thought the swimming controls were the best I've experienced in any game by far. Skyward Sword proves that motion controls are anything but a failure.

Why is everybody complaining about the Motion Controls? They work perfectly. You should play it relaxt, not swing your arms around like a madman, then it doesn't work.
A Wii game where you can play without moving that much and people are still complaining.
For me, it's the best Zelda game to date. Only the flying became a little annoying, and the Trials seemed annoying at first, but then I realized it doesn't take that much time so it isn't bad to do them all over again.
I really, really hope that the Wii U Zelda will have the same control scheme, because it works perfectly if you use it correctly.

And yes, every new play session you find treasure you get a cutscene with information... that's annoying, and Fi is quite the Captain Obvious, but it seems most of you guys are trying to burn down the whole game because of that.
Yes, there are a few little annoyances, but the positive stuff easily outweighs that.

(And for the people who hate the tadpole stuff, try spinning underwater, or, otherwise, actually using the controller right)

their not complaining mostly about the controls their complaining about why they are used for stupid stuff like flying and swimming mainly when the chuck could have worked just fine.
