Lack of Samus makes baby fanboy Jesus cry.
I mean cmon, 3 forms of Link? Diddy Kong, but no Donkey Kong? The cover art also seems a bit misleading. Plenty of characters pictured that aren't on the roster. I looked through the blog in case they might be 'planned', but saw nothing suggesting that...
EDIT: The control scheme also felt very awkward. I've never liked 'up' being jump in Smash games. I'd much prefer if 'special attack' were moved to Y, 'final smash' moved to X, and B made into a 'jump' button, while removing the up acting as jump. It also seems there is no way to use your standing upward-tilt + A attack without jumping, then landing while still holding up, THEN pressing the attack button. The mid-air directional influence seems to be on the weak side. Shield should be able to be activated while moving, or you should add a roll/dodge move. The white flash at the start of each match also seems unneeded. Complete lack of running was also a pretty big put-off. No Smash attacks either? When facing the Kirby Team in classic mode, their graphics don't appear for the team on the vs screen. The shield seems to vanish way too quickly, and there should be some sort of penalty for having your shield broken. The credits also drag on for WAY too long, there is no way to skip them or speed it up, and while you can shoot, and you can't AIM at anything. The white flash and pause every time a Crash Shadow is KO'd is extremely obnoxious, and has frozen the game several times. Why can't Megaman charge the his buster?
Also noticed several text errors in a few areas that caught my eye, aside from the font not being very visually pleasing.
Character Menu:
"Capitan Falcon" ---> "Captain Falcon" (I know "Capitan" is accepted around Europe, but everything else seems to conform to American english)
"ToonLink" ---> "Toon Link"
Rules Menu:
"Demage Ratio" ---> "Damage Ratio"
"SmashBall Frecuency" ---> "SmashBall Frequency" (Also, the "Never" option overruns the border. "Off" might work instead?)
Classic mode results screen:
"% Demage" ---> "% Damage"
"No recived KO Bunus:" ---> "No received KO bonus:" (it was called "No Fall Bonus" in the real games, which makes more sense and fits better)
Allstar mode:
"Left Characters" ---> "Remaining Characters/Opponents" or "Characters/Opponents Left" would make more grammatical sense.
Configuration menu:
"Lenguaje" ---> "Language"
Select Mode menu:
"Vault:Unlocked/Editor" ---> "Vault: Unlocked" (I see no editor...)
Solo menu:
"Classic mode" ---> Classic Mode"
"AllStars Mode" ---> "All-Star Mode"
Classic Mode:
"Platfrom Test (10)" ---> "Platform Test (10)"
Master Pieces menu: "Master Pieces" ---> "Masterpieces"
"Nintendo Entretainament System" ---> "Nintendo Entertainment System"
Mega Man 1 was released in 1987
Mega Man 2 was released in 1988 in Japan, 1989 in the US
Mega Man 3 was released in 1990
"Kirby Adventure" ---> "Kirby's Adventure", released in 1993
"Bubble Double" ---> "Bubble Bobble", first released in 1986
"Bumberman" ---> "Bomberman", first released in 1983
Arkanoid was first released in 1986
Adventure Island was first released in 1988 in the US
"Snow bros" ---> "Snow Bros", released in 1991
(Why are Snow Bros, Pacman, Bubble Bobble, Bomberman, Arkanoid, or Adventure Island included? None of the characters or stages are in the game. And why are other unrelated homebrews and apps included? All they do is inclease the size of the file...)
I know this seems pretty critical, but it's just because I'm a pretty big Smash fan, and have high standards for a game claiming the same name. I point them out hoping to help you find the problems and improve your game. After all of that, I still think this has the potential to be something really big.
