Look what I scored from my local pawn shop...for $30!

Brand spanking new, with shiny shrinkwrap. The clerk was surprised as well - he rubbed it while getting it out of the case.

This is going to be a regular feature of this blog, so stay tuned! (I generally buy older games from pawn shops, but this deal was one I didn't want to miss out on...) I had a couple of bids on ebay sniper service for these - but this is instant gratification. (I'm tempted to play tonight with it, but I will save this for later.)

* Apparently, the owner had taken in a 3DS as well. He sold it for $100. Nice!

Got mine on eBay for $33 shipped, and it was brand-new but opened and the Club Nintendo points were still there unused :D

Pawnshops used to be the best place to find games. I dunno how good they are now, but next to flea markets, you couldn't beat the prices. And the games weren't all sports-based either!

The one in my university town constantly has Wiis, DSes and PSPs for sale. It's really amazing what people will part with. (I haven't opened the game yet, but it should be some fun saved for the Lunar New Year!)

    Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

    @Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.
