Government is shit...

Hello
So... yea...
Today, I went to the drug store to get my medecine, like I do every week
And when the pharmacist brings them to me, she says "85.30$"
I was like "Wait, it's usually free"
Well, it seems like my demand to renew governmental insuranec on my meds is still in process...
After two weeks...
Seriously, usually, it takes much less times, but those meds are new and expansive...
So, I guess they smelled some money to borrow from sick people...

Well, I'm keeping all my bills, in hope I can be refunded later...
But hell, 85$ every week? I won't be able to pay that for long...
I hope they'll fix that asap...

PS : Yes, I'm aware that there are medecine even more expansive, I'm aware
And I still think all required medecine should be refunded by governement
I'm not talking here about luxury medecine, like medecine to help digest better
or medecine for dry mouth (Even if I take some sometime)
I know there are people who takes medecine that costs 35k$ per year... and it should be refunded imo...

Damn, sorry to hear that and not only for you.

For shits and giggles, write the drug company and see if they'll give you a 99% discount; you'd be doing more than your government.

No clue how it works over there but I'm pretty sure if you kept your receipt or other proof of purchase and make them aware of it once the renewal has finished going through, they should be able to reimburse/refund the cost

Is being able to eat a luxury now?

Yes, along with breathing and sleeping--if you think about it, a lot of people have had the luxury of medicine, so if Nocto is having it rough, I'm sure there are a couple hundred-thousand others who might need way more expensive drugs for very serious illnesses.

When costs skyrocket then suddenly heartburn and other digestive problems don't seem so urgent... I guess?

I mean, they will surely kill you due to ulcers and stomach cancer, but it will take a very long time.

Was that ever prescribed on mass? If not it tends to be for when people get their gut flora wiped out by antibiotics or something, and you do really want to keep those in line. Indeed I the whole whole human microbiome thing seems to be a rather hot area of medicine at this point in time.

Hope things work out for you. I understand your point about luxury medicine, but sadly most Americans seem to think it's a luxury to receive a medicine so you don't die. :/ You know, because "Darwinism" or whatever convenient excuse their rich masters lay down for why they need to keep getting those sweet, sweet tax cuts. I mean, what sort of sane person would want to make $10,000,000 and have an effective tax rate of ~30% when you could make $20,000 and not pay income tax*?

* Does not apply if you're single and/or don't have kids. Also doesn't apply to all other payroll/other taxes. Oh, and of course, I'm being incredibly facetious about it all. If I were making $10,000,000 and my effective tax rate was ~70% so long as the system remained a progressive one, I'd gladly take the money. I'd also probably spend a good chunk of my money lobbying to make sure that $7,000,000 was put to good use helping people not clawing back the money into my pocket. You know, because I'm selfish that way.

I'm gonna help you out here. You can thank me later.

My solution: stop using the medicine.

Problem solved. *awaits applause*

@the_randomizer No, Obamacare was designed to get more people on health insurance by making health insurance mandatory and subsidizing costs for lower-income Americans. The US is still a long way from having the political willpower to accept universal healthcare.

Haha, you should see it in America. The government shutdown is taking a toll on more and more people. But yea, government is retarded. Trump wants a wall and won't give the rest of the country what they want until he gets it. Kind of reminds me of a bratty child....

Your complaining about 85$ that you can get refunded. America's funded walls in the east, but when it comes to our own nation they fight tooth and nail against it. Obama wanted to build a wall maybe some of you forgot that... Atleast Trump stuck to his word. You all live in this utopic world like the world around you that struggles can't exist. But for our first time as a nation we are trying to protect ourselves from constant deportation, Fostering of illegal children. And illegal drug trades that rob the wealth of our nation. It's a great thing for America, but rather than accepting change or reaching out to friends, family, finding a job or a part time. Hell working at mcdonalds, you just want to take the easy choice of complaining when Trump has made valid offers to allow government to open, but has been declined without thought. Give the man a pat on the back and stop smacking it with a whip.

@RivenMain so you're basically saying "it isn't trump's fault that you're starving to death because he shut down the government, it's your fault for not getting another job"
jesus christ dude. Put yourself in their shoes, do you have no sympathy?

also the whole obama thing was only 60 million bucks instead of 22+ billion. I'm all for border security btw, but the wall is a stupid idea.

@Orangy57 If I have financial problems I don't wait around for someone to fix it for me. I go out and look for work.
If I have to I will swallow my pride and ask my family for some help. So no it isn't Trumps fault.

@DrGreed lmaowut do you even hear what you're saying? It's not that donald trump is supposed to "fix your problems for you," it's that he's supposed to un-fuck up the government shutdown that he singlehandedly shut down. That's like saying "oops i broke your vase, what are you going to wait for me to buy a new one? What, do you want me to do everything for you? Go figure it out yourself, it's not my fault. Ask someone else for a vase"

But the way you worded it before >"it isn't trump's fault that you're starving to death because he shut down the government, it's your fault for not getting another job"
jesus christ dude. Put yourself in their shoes, do you have no sympathy?<

Nothing is fucked up. We've had shutdowns before so we'll be fine.
