Holidays In The Sun

Hey ho slags and lads, did you miss me? well its been an okay month so where to start...

Goodwill has been a cool for me as I have managed to get away with Shinobi 3, Golden Axe 2 and a Game Genie on the Mega Drive/Genesis, Metal Gear Solid 3 : Snake Eater, Ridge Racer V on the PS2 and Kirby Squeak Squad on the NDS so I ain't complaining. I did get a go on Squeak Squad and found it to be somewhat of a hidden gem on the NDS, has the great mechanics of usual Kirby games and is just terribly fun all around.

Anywho in my usual Amiibo news, I managed to successfully get Marth from Amazon UK so right now, I have a complete collection sadly enough, lol. I managed to get a preorder in for the Retro 3 Pack (Duck Hunt, Rob and Mr Game and Watch) and another one in for the recently announced Shovel Knight amiibo, so I will just need to get a Captain Olimar to have a complete set again for now.

As you may or may not know I had a holiday in Marro Bay recently, which worked out nice besides getting a speeding ticket on the 101 freeway, lol. Still Marrow Bay is one of the few places I have seen in America so far that reminded me of home so far, there was so many greens and natural life there, as well as the fresh sea air which along with a good temperature which made a nice change from the normal for me. While there I managed to find a whole bunch of vinyl records for the collection, records included Jimmy Page, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Three Dog Night, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Jeff Beck, ACDC, David Bowie, ELO, Yes, The Who, Ray Charles, Steve Miller Band, Van Halen, and The Kinks. Thankfully most of these were only a buck or so each so that was really delightful.I have been listening to them since getting back home and it was well worth it, they all sound really great.

In playing games news.I managed to find a sale on Humble which allowed me to get Game of Thones, Jurassic Park and the 2 Poker at the Inventory games for just over 10 bucks. I watched my wife play the first episode of GoT and it's safe to say, not having read the books or not really being a fan of the tv series I am quite lost, lol.I have had the wife explaining most references to me because the game expects you to have seen at least the first 3 seasons of the show but who knows, maybe this will
get better as we venture forward, I thought I wouldn't enjoy The Walking Dead because I never cared for the comic or the tv series but that one really struck a chord with me.

So short of that there hasn't been a ton that has happened with me this month so I guess I will pad this out with opinion nonsense.

Rumor has it that The Dig is getting a remake closer to the original version? Would love to see it myself, could be one of the better things to come out of LucasArts since the Disney take over, and seeing as a lot of the older Star Wars games (Super Star Wars, Bounty Hunter, Racer Revenge, Jedi Starfighter) are seemingly getting another chance on digital formats, it should be nice to see some other LucasArts properties getting some attention besides Star Wars, Grim Fandango seems to have done well out of it, who knows, maybe we will see some more Monkey Island love too.

Resident Evil 2 is now getting an official remake now apparently, nice, I think after 15 or so years the potential in this could be fantastic but I guess it all hinges on which direction they decide to go with this. I think it would be interesting to back to the fixed camera angles, puzzle solving ways as opposed to trying to be Contra like the last couple have turned out to be but as I was musing with some, I hope we ain't in the age now where the B quest would be turned into DLC or Hunk or Tofus mission
is turned into some pre order bonus bullshit or the like.

And it turns out Marvelous is finally undergoing a translation. The game is a Snes one directed by Eiji Aonuma who if you don't know would go onto become the main Zelda director since Majora's Mask or so. While Marvelous looks fantastic it apparently runs on the A Link To The Past engine as well so I am hoping it will be on the buried treasures the Snes still has left to offer.

Right, besides that I think I have ran out of opinions now, so i'm gonna mossy on off and maybe see you lot in a month, tatty ho
