That's the way I want it baby, I don't want to live forever

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, R.I.P Lemmy, etc. It has been a very emotional and upsetting month so lets get recapping shall we...

My mother in law who is the main provider in our household lost her job at the beginning of the month which sucks the big one, she got laid off due to business going slow at her place, although they was talking about bringing her back in a month or so like they did with me we have decided to cut our loses short and she is about to sue them due to the severance package she was offered and terminating her before her contract was complete. It maybe a long ass time before she see's any results from this suit but we have all made sacrifices to make the money she has left go as far as it can, been eating at home a lot more, cutting out a hell of a lot of luxury items and generally bargain hunting to the extreme and canceling Christmas. So far to keep the money coming in I have taken out my old part time gardening which is bringing in money to pay for food for all of us while the mother in law is paying the house bills but something will have to change sooner or later, I have an interview next week for a full time job at a car dealership so wish me a bit of luck yeah?

To top off the year in style, the father in law also managed to get involved in a car collision too. He was driving to here when he stopped at his turn lane waiting for an opening only to be rear ended, due to the fear he was about to be involved in a head on collision from the other side he accelerated ahead to smack into a curb which luckily for him he managed to avoid going into anything serious or important. Despite some of the initial shock and aches and pains that have kicked in a day or 2 after the accident itself he appears to be fine although he is lawyering up to try and pay for medical bills and get pain and suffering money he says. The car he is trying to get back despite the insurance company declaring it to be a write off but considering the back of it was only hit the cost will apparently be 7 grand according to them to repair it, he is insistent we do it and get it cheap but I will report it as it comes along, I know we ain't exactly got the money to be wasting on new cars right now so who knows...

So lets talk some gaming shit yeah? Right so I managed to end up with a PSTV recently seeing as Best Buy were selling them for 20 bucks and decided to get Freedom Wars alongside it for 5 bucks. Being this is my first real experience with the "Vita" system, it seems pretty cool to some degree, as for Freedom Wars, i like the concept, although the game seems a bit of a mixed bag so far in my opinion, it feels either rushed or in-complete in some aspects while I tend to find it runs with some unstable frame rates that ends up go all over the place. Terenigma who I have had the pleasure to play this alongside has said he never experienced these issues himself although he is playing it on a Vita but who knows, maybe i'm just looking for shit to complain about, lol.

Anyway, this month I managed to complete Fallout 3 and Chrono Trigger. Fallout 3 while i like many of the mechanics of it, I still don't quite get the glory surrounding it? I found the story at the best of times to not be engaging, I found the wastelands at best to be boring to explore and despite this badass robot towards the ends, a lot of the characters in it to be nothing memorable. However a lot of the fighting mechanics and how each play-through could be very unique spending on how you spend your points? fantastic. Hoping that New Vegas will be a lot better when I try that sometime in the future. Chrono Trigger as you may recall I ended up getting last month due to a sale at the SE shop and I cannot say it dissapointed me, I only tried it casually just to make sure it worked, etc and ended up playing it through to the end. It is one of these games that I am kicking myself now for not playing it through sooner because the whole quest seemed quite magical to me, I loved everything it had to offer from the combat to the characters to yet again the multiple endings you can achieve, I cannot recommend this game enough now.

You could probably guess after the Smash Direct i ended up buying Cloud for both the 3DS and Wii U and despite him being some what overpowered, I really like him, the next big one i look forward coming is Bayonetta. I always hoped after Bayonetta 2 was announced as a Wii U exclusive that she would be included but it is nice to see that she apparently won the ballot, despite seeing some people being very salty at that result.

So the last bit of gaming stuff worth commenting on, Aviary Attorney. I kickstarted this thing sometimes last year and after almost forgetting about it, it has finally come out. I have been taking it a bit slow playing the game and despite obviously lifting a whole bunch of its mechanics from the Ace Attorney series I think this has enough charm of its own to stand out well enough. I am at case 4 right now which I have yet to start although in various circles I am hearing that the game isn't complete on a certain story line? certainly a shitter if you happen upon the story line that goes that way and a bigger shitter the dev apparently has not disclosed this is the case with there game anywhere on the Steam store page but the game itself? I am really like it, i like the fact the cases aren't a simple a to b thing and can take multiple paths, the script is well done although at this point I can't say that i find it engaging you know? Still, maybe next month when i get around to finishing it i will give you lot a better opinion of it, then again I know how the Temp hates reviews, lol.

Short of that what else is worth mentioning...Star Wars? Went to see it this month and yeah, despite being a bit too close to the original in terms of plot points I found it to be an excellent movie which put the prequels in there place, lol. It was amazing to see how good a Star Wars movie can be when you have the right director behind it and look forward to either the Anthology movie they have coming next year or episode VIII, just hoping Disney ain't going to milk the Star Wars cow too hard, but lets be honest, they will.

Anywho, I guess you lot are saying fuck off and get a job, so i'm going to do just that, happy new year.
