It wasn't supposed to be like this, Vita. It wasn't supposed to be like this at all!

So, what exactly drew the FTC's ire?
  • Implicit promises of crossplay support with all PS3 titles when it only worked with certain, specific games
  • Misrepresentation of the concept of "cross saves" and its application in games
  • Misrepresentation of the 3G Vita's multiplayer functionality
  • Deceptive ads disguised as non-affiliated Tweets
Those who qualify will receive $25 in refund or $50 as credit. Sony is supposed to email owners soon about how they can get their money.

The Vita's had nothing but turmoil during its short life so far. From a rocky launch to continued poor sales and an extremely limited game library, it's just been one thing after another for the little handheld that couldn't. It's been so dwarfed by the 3DS' performance, we might as well call it the Danny DeVita at this point.

One can only hope that Sony's execs have enough PS4 dosh to wipe away all their tears.

Well, uh... bet you guys regret not buying a Vita at launch now, right? Right?

Guys?

Releasing a month after Bloodborne is a strange decision by FROM SOFTWARE, we could really have done with this release in 2014.
Will you be picking it up?

In a livestream for the upcoming Etrian Odyssey Untold II, Atlus announced today not one but two more upcoming games for its Etrian Odyssey series. The first is Etrian Odyssey V, the fifth entry in the main series. No release date has been announced, but there is a teaser site here. Interestingly, the trailer and site don't mention the planned release platform, though the previous titles were released on the Nintendo 3DS.

The second announced game is a collaboration project with Spike Chunsoft. It will be a crossover between Etrian Odyssey and Mystery Dungeon, combining the mechanics from the Mystery Dungeon series with the look and feel from Etrian Odyssey. The current title for the game is "Mystery Dungeon and the World Tree", and it is planned for a release for the Nintendo 3DS on March 5, 2015 in Japan.

Currently, neither game has been confirmed for release outside of Japan. Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, another crossover between Etrian Odyssey and the Persona series, releases in North America tomorrow, and this Friday in Europe.

While still highly considered a proof-of-concept, PlanetVB forum member Danielps has released source code for a Red Dragon 3DS Virtual Boy emulator. Guy Perfect, the person behind the coveted VB Sacred Tech Scrolls, has shown interest in making a VB EMU for the 3DS as well. Thanks to Smealum's release, we may see an optimized VB emulator on the 3DS one day soon.
