Homebrew Suggestion WAD/NRO Files do not run/install on switch

Thank you in advance for any and all help provided,

I'm on 6.2 and running SX OX 2.5.3. I am running the current HBL. I tried to run/install the kgdoom.nro file but it just takes me back to the SX OX menu. I also tried with the chocolatedoom and same thing. Also tried cannon ball and same thing. I tried to run/install them from the HBL menu. Any one else come across this issue?

Usually the advice for homebrew is don't use SX OS

So there is no other way to run homebrew properly other than through atmosphere?
