ROM Hack Pokemon ar and injection stuff

Hello,

I wanted to know if there was a way to use ar codes on pokemon without action replay powersaves, pokehex or other tools like that but just with some hex editing.
I wanted to know this, because I want to learn hexadecimal and this would be a great step, by using just a hex editor and injecting the edits back in, so is it possible.
Another question is could it be possible that there are more, yet for many unknown, injection possibillities are in youtube or other tools/the browser?
