Hardware N3DS circle pad drifting

Yeah so I brought my 3DS back from the dead somehow. And I used it for awhile, no homebrew or anything, and recently the circle pad started randomly drifting upward. I tried recalibrating, didn’t help.

It still responds, but every couple of seconds it just holds upwards. The other buttons still work at the same time though

Maybe blowing compressed air or something into it can help
You should be able to easily replace it and circle pad replacements are pretty cheap

Worst case if what was said above doesn't help atleast 3DSs are mad cheap nowadays (even for an n2dsxl)

Double check that the drift is really coming from the circle pad and not from the d-pad, touchscreen, or c-stick using 3DSident-GUI. Press (START) + (SELECT) to switch to the buttons checker mode.

  • Be careful looking elsewhere. Lots of vendors sell crappy plastic thumb caps that don't come rubberized.
