Unfortunately I got 3/4 of the way through this tutorial before I discovered the more up to date one using ChoiDujour, so I decided to just power through and finish it up, but I've encountered a problem. I followed the tutorial as best as I could BUT I made the mistake of using the wrong XCI (Gun Gal 2 @ 4.0.1 instead of Kirby Star Allies @ 4.1.0) to load the patch into the console through HacDiskMount. The result was a blue screen. I'm not panicking just yet because I made a successful backup of the original NAND, BOOT0/01, partitions, BCPKG2-1-Normal-Main.bin, etc. Also I can load up hekate through Tegra, and that seems to be fine and stable. So with that in mind: 1) Can I just pick up where I left off, so to speak, make a copy of BCPKG2-1-Normal-Main.bin, patch it with Kirby Star Allies through parcheador.bat, and load it into the console as usual? Is there a chance this would work and fix the device, or do I need to start over entirely? 2) If 1 is a no-go, can someone provide a tutorial as to how to restore the backups to the switch and fix the BSOD? I've been searching for a simple tutorial that covers only this and so far, I've found nothing. I can't post links since this account is new, but the "how-to-install-run-any-switch-firmware-unofficially-without-burning-any-fuses" tutorial is just an insanely huge amount of instructions and doesn't seem to directly address the "get back to square 1" thing that I need. Also there's the the "choidujournx-a-system-firmware-installer-homebrew-for-the-nintendo-switch" tutorial, which is short, vague and doesn't do the job either. This kind of basic recovery seems to be the kind of very simple, essential information that everyone should know, so I'm surprised I can't find a tutorial that explains how to get back to the OFW from stable backups. Thanks
You can make a post on the DS forum about your findings, and they'll do their best to respond. They have a GBAtemp account here, you know.
