So.

The project its almost finish, i build a old school retro system on a kinda old pc "HP MS225".

For now, it runs OK almost anything below PS1, note that this is not intended to be used as a ultra gaming last gen pc, this is the core of an old arcade I'm making.

I would like to get game suggestions for it, but the catch its, it must be a windows game, what does this mean?
No emulator / No Rom / Nothing like that, OH, and please keep off the list turn based games, i don't play them / like them that much.
as example, I'm looking for this kind of games:

  • Touhou games [Yes, they do run on an old PC, trust me.]
  • Any good Doujin Games.
  • Cave Story [Does not count as an emulator]
  • Doom
  • Rosenkreuzstilette
Among others...

Please take in consideration the PC Specs : 2gb of RAM / Athlon ll X2 250u (R) 1.6 GHz (25W).
Its and old school PC, but it gets the job done for my needs.

So yeah.. im here listening guys ;D

It saddens me that what is essentially an ok dual core Windows XP system is considered "retro" nowadays, especially when the CPU is only 8 years old .
*pets Windows 98 era Laptop*

Got a GPU in it? How "old school" is old school to you?

Here's stuff I played in those kind of days. Most of these will likely require a GPU of some kind, so that might be a future purchase if you don't already have something and can upgrade the thing:
Dues Ex
Half Life 1
Far Cry 1
Gothic 1 and 2
CoD 1 and 2
Black & White
Battlefield 1942
Mafia
KOTOR
Baldur's Gate 1 and 2
Diablo 2
Quake 3
System Shock 2
Unreal Tournament 2004
Planescape: Torment
Morrowind
Oblivion
Aliens Vs Predator (from 1999)
No One Lives Forever
Max Payne

And I imagine I could go on and on and on and on.

Woah, that list. Nostalgic.

Those games are a little to high end for the old boy here.

Sadly it is, i used a windows XP computer, Pentium 4 with 256 ram and 80 HDD, it did what i needed, then sadly i had to move on at a later age, but i found this bad boy which its an All In One, but ill use it mainly as a old school PC games. [including emulation, but that part its already done]

What im looking its more like a retro feeling? from the list you gave me, unreal tournament 2004 should work, but the 1999 and 2003 version should pretty much do the job, AVP, Quake etc, you got the idea.
Im also looking for games that can be controlled by a external controller, since i will be mounting an arcade controller + wireless or wired controller.

Checking the actual AIO's specs page, it looks like the thing uses an AMD M780G chipset, which has what is essentially a Radeon HD 2400 as an iGPU, so actually most of those games should be totally playable no problem. Some at low settings, albeit, but still definitely playable.

Also, apparently this thing is a budget Windows 7 AIO from 2009

...okay, on a more serious note: let's see...these sort of ruined my youth (in addition to the first fallout games):

-rollercoaster tycoon 2
-Unreal and Unreal Tournament (UT99)
-sim city 2000
-Abe's Oddysey
-raptor: call of the shadows
-super street fighter 2 turbo
-anything under the old lucasarts flag
-red alert 2 and yuri's revenge
-desperados: wanted dead or alive
-starcraft, warcraft 1 & 2

EDIT:
Those games are a little to high end for the old boy here.
I gotta side with Tom on this one...from his list, I think UT2004 is the most recent one, and I've played that (to death) on much less than your rig. You may need some tweaks for the larger maps, but it'll be mostly playable. And by extension, probably the rest as well. :)

where the love for Rise of the Triad at

I think I spent more time on that demo than DN3D back in the day. That and Terminal Velocity... And a bit of Wacky Wheels or whatever it's called.
