My brother and his friend ordered two of these and shipped em to me to be CFW'd.
One was a red 2DS which came with 6.0.
The other was blue and came with 9.4.
Upgraded the red and downgraded the blue without much issue :)
Sky3DS has a really ugly Transformers rip-off logo. Nobody cares about Transformers these days. Gateway's current logo has a cool ripped-off dragon on it. Gateway is by far the better option if you're going to buy a flash cart.
Uhm... no we don't?
A forum specifically for user support and questions related to 3DS homebrew/hacks/flashcarts/cfw/downgrading/piracy would free up the main forums for actual content.
I would like to see a separate forum category specifically for help/support/questions. This would cut down on the clutter in the homebrew and flashcard/cfw forums considerably.
Don't purchase anything. You don't need a flash cart.
Downgrade to firmware 9.2
Set up custom firmware (RxTools/CakesFW/etc) with emunand
Enjoy 3ds piracy
How to roms get spread around? How do firmware files get spread around? They're all illegal and this site forbids it :P People can find them elsewhere.
Who cares about an opinionated poll? How about some actual comparisons instead...
ctrclient.exe
(Released: 2014.??.??)
Command line tool for sending CTR commands to the 3DS over network. No one's used this since Palantine CFW was relevant.
DevMenu
(Released: 2014.??.??)
An older leaked copy...
I would edit the payload menuhax uses instead.
Rename your existing CFW boot.3dsx to something else with 4 characters (ex: haxx.3dsx).
Find the file on your SD card that starts with "ropbinpayload_menuhax". Open it in a text editor (notepad works) or hex editor.
Find "boot.3dsx" and...
I just tried on my N3DS (9.0 w/ 9.5 emunand) using an RXTools nightly build from December. Trying to boot my DSTwo from emunand crashes to a black screen.
There's definitely some truth to it. :)
