    How did this happen?!

    Got a single beep, no light, no power on EDM-010 in today and someone has been into it previously. How do I know? Because they've obliterated whatever this component was (first pic)! Can't find an obvious source for the issue, but there's a couple of caps showing short beside the SSD...

    EDM-010 board - can anyone tell me this capacitor value please?

    Some kind person on another forum let me know it's a 22µF capacitor - just replaced it with one I had in stock and the BLOD is fixed, the console boots up no problem. Sharing here in case this helps someone else!

    Are you sure it's a resistor? It definitely looks more like a little ceramic cap to me... Thanks for the tip - I've posted to r/consolerepair as well

    Hi everyone! Had a PS5 in with BLOD, tracked down a shorted cap and removed it but I don't have a donor board to check the value before I replace it. If anyone could tell me the value I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!

    Awesome, thanks for your reply. I'll give it a clean and apply some fresh LM Monday and see how it goes.

    It did have all the screws - this picture was taken after I started disassembling it. Do you think the lack of liquid metal is enough to cause the problem I'm seeing?

    UPDATE: cleaned off the liquid metal and reapplied some fresh stuff and it all seems good now! Thank you for your help! Hello! And thanks in advance for your help!     Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

    @Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.
