Thanks for trying it! Labelling from the top side will increase the size of the board which i'm really not keen on, hopefully once the board is released the documentation can be a good substitute. What do you mean by solder pads next to the flex cable connector on the right side? do you want the...
Everything is so compressed on this board, especially on the new version that it really will take up space. if you look at the new picture (https://gbatemp.net/threads/mcfly-an-rp2040-board-compatible-with-picofly.629024/post-10128107) and take into account text size requirements and silk...
Quick browse on LCSC shows all 6 pin 0.5mm pitch double sided connctors wwith a slim height are either the hirose or a knockoff of the hirose, i'm going to fiddle with the board i have to hand and see if i can find out why it wasn't working in both orientations

I've got one left but that's for me, I want to use it for a keyboard lol. yeah the FFC connector breaks out a GPIO pin to a 6 pin 0.5mm pitch flat flex connector which i think aligns with the aliexpress CPU flexes
Final board specs, provided nothing shows up in testing
XY Size: 18.7x18.0mm
Thickness: ~1.6mm (substrate thickness and component selection dependent)
Component count: 36 total, 17 different types (Some of which are optional e.g. fpc connector)
All components available on LCSC
LCSC BOM cost for...
Huh. That's cool. I mean it's not designed to fit in a switch, it's just designed for general space constrained applications. I didn't really expect my silly little project to get an article all to itself lol
Files will come eventually, please be patient. i'm not going to put out defective hardware to be copied a thousand times over, i'd never be able to sleep at night haha. Once the testers have got it in hand and can confirm all is well then it will be released for everyone to enjoy
At a guess less than 10 bucks each including pcb. Rp2040s are cheap. Also all components can be ordered from lcsc so no looking in multiple places to source the components
Been hard at work this weekend. Got all my PCBs assembled. 4 to go off to the people who have kindly offered to test them and one for me. I'm sure I can find some use for it
These LEDs are really designed to be hotplated or ir reflow ovened but I don't have a reflow oven and was too lazy to get the hotplate out for one component
