Jebus! Looks like that solder was applied with a cold shotgun. What were they thinking?

I did this.. Pre flight checks - Confirmed I was running SXOS 3.0.4 and was at 10.0.4 in both OFW and CFW. 1. Booted to OFW 2. Applied the pending 10.1.0 update. 3. Booted to OFW again and checked that it had updated to 10.1.0 - Success! 4. Downloaded the 10.1.0 update (couldn't find it in...

Choi worked for me, but I had to find a download of the 10.1.0 NCAs. I'd hoped that i'd be able to update OFW, and extract the update while booted into emunand, but it looks as though biggestdump only sees emunand. Makes sense now I think about it. Still, managed to get CFW and OFW up to...

Hi all. Trying to get my head around updating to 10.1.0. Currently on sysfw10.0.4, running SXOS 3.0.4. 10.1.0 update is pending installation on OFW. Would this work? 1. Boot to CFW 2. Extract pending update from Sysnand using 'biggestdump' app (appears to work fine - it creates the .NCA...

It works really well doesn't it. . It opens up a load of options. Kodi etc. Pretty much anything that will run on a pc. I might even get to play some of the Steam games that I've been hoarding :D

No need to install Android to do that. Google 'SkyNX'. Install app on your switch, an app on your PC and you're good to go. It even supports GPU acceleration.

I read this entire post with the voice of 'Aussie man reviews' in my head . Top post!

I found it worked well for me to solder the caps first, and then soldered the anchor points last to lock everything in place. The stickiness of the residual flux did a good job of holding everything in place so I didn't need double sided tape. I found that a cocktail stick with a flattened...

Success! Didn't give me any problems soldering and I got the green light and grumpy face on first boot. The problem came after I'd added the boot.dat to the sd card. It was stuck on the SX OS logo indefinitely. I tried a bunch of stuff (reformatting the SD, redownloading etc. ) but it still...

My SX lite just arrived, from an Ali seller in just over a week. Meanwhile the one I preordered from M3DSC back in December hasn't even shipped yet. . Wish me luck with the install. See you on the other side

Great stuff. What method did you use? :) Solder, flux, etc. Did you pre tin the pads?

Hmm? Not sure what to do now. I ordered an SX lite but just received an SX core in the post. Looks like I've been sent it in error. First observations are that it really is tiny, but still looks doable. It also came in just the inner box, with no branded sleeve. Possibly an attempt to hide...

Mine hasn't shipped yet. Latest update I had was that they were delayed until July.

I'll be eyeballing mine during soldering, but I'll check my work with a meter and loupe after.

Have you considered trying an 'easy out/screw extractor? There's a 1.3mm one in a kit on Amazon, but you might be able to buy them separately.

Let me explain why I decided to pay. Back in mid December, the reseller was on the TX approved list. A search here showed that people had ordered from them before and had gotten their goods. I preordered back then with a view to getting my SX lite in the first batch. When I was able, I paid...

It wasn't via email or anything, it was added to a note I raised asking for a shipping date. Reasons given were "price and risk of shipping" and the need to find an alternative route to avoid inspection. I paid it, but only because the total cost still comes in at around the same price as it's...

Has anyone else with a pre-order been asked to pay more for shipping since placing their order? I got a message from mine asking for another $10 to ship, due to "increased shipping risk".

As it's already been mentioned, it's probably going to be easier to lightly tin the solder points on the flex cable, flux the capacitors (Great Scott!) And lightly drag the solder over to the caps from the solder points. Less solder is better IMHO. Can always add tiny amounts after to ensure a...

I've just been practicing a bit more on some 0201s on a scrap board. An 0.2mm tip with 0.4mm solder feels fairly comfortable with some decent fluxing.
