    I was thinking because I have some "wrong ones" the game might look for the wrong one cause it may think they don't have a house since it doesnt find the right house, instead of a good one I put in now... I might try removing the wrong ones and... It may take a while

    I double checked with some friends: one of the new villagers I put in came with the correct house, the other one came with the wrong house. I don't know why it would be possible and don't know what else to try with the tools we have now :(

    Yes it works, I've tried with two villagers and they seem to come with the right furniture/house. Too bad we still can't swap out unwanted villagers for better ones without messing their house, but it's something!

    No I meant, the way I wrote should work - but of course, you can't do it if you already have 10 villagers. Have an empty plot, go to an island to invite someone in (or wait for the plot to be sold) and swap the villager before the house is built. This way, it'll work.
