Official MediCat USB - A Multiboot Linux USB for PC Repair

Attempted to use the drive to install W10 using the instruction you gave @fastok by using 7zip to extract "Win10_1909_EnglishInternational_x64.iso" and then putting those 4 folders and 4 files in the "InstallWindows10" folder, but I also got error 28. Redownloaded the medicat_v19.10.stable.iso...

Official MediCat USB - A Multiboot Linux USB for PC Repair

@Jayro Did some testing here and Lubuntu install fails on medicat.v18.10.stable and medicat.v19.10.stable with: Installation Failed Bad unsquash configuration The source filesystem "/cdrom/casper/filesystem.squashfs" does not exist But when creating a lubuntu 18.1 or 19.1 boot disk on the...

Official MediCat USB - A Multiboot Linux USB for PC Repair

Was attempting to install Lubuntu for the first time today using my medicat stick and ended up getting a "Installation Failed - Bad source: cdrom/casper/filesystem.squash" Rewriting my drive in case there was an issue there. Anyone know of any other potential issues?

Gaming Majoras Mask: Final Boss Questions

This is my first time playing through Majoras, I finally opted to play it with the convenience of the 3DS version. To start, I'm not going to bother getting the Fierce Deity mask. I don't like the game enough to commit that much time to grinding all masks. I ported to the moon, got through...

Official MediCat USB - A Multiboot Linux USB for PC Repair

I'm curious about this, but instead of poking around for myself, I'll be lazy and ask you. How did you add custom OSs? Also, @Jayro I know it's minor, but I'm showing my support for your great project by hosting the torrents. Please @me or let me know in some way when there's a new version...

    Gaming Emulating on my N3DS

What, you can play PS1 games on the N3DS?! Please link that thread to me if you run across it. @Rahkeesh Thanks for the pointers. It seems like Retroarch is a good fit for me, I don't mind the effort in setting it up (Or are there other major issues?). And if it works with the sleep mode...

    Gaming Emulating on my N3DS

Got it, so GB, GBC, NES, SNES are all no problem. Which emulators would YOU choose to run these systems on? And are there any good options for GBA right now? I see you listed two with some negatives, are either of them really usable?

    Gaming Emulating on my N3DS

I've recently upgraded from a 3ds to a N3DS, and it's awesome. This leads to my question, What's the best way to make this console into a Nintendo emulation extravaganza. Meaning: Which consoles can I effectively emulate/play on the N3DS? How can I best emulate all possible consoles on the...

    Hardware Gameboy Micro Shoulder Buttons

I've read a number of great threads here about the Gamboy Micro's shoulder button issues. This one was especially helpful: https://gbatemp.net/threads/gb-micro-r-shoulder-button-failing.367459/ With all this info, is there a better current solution to the shoulder button issue, or should I...

About GBA Flashcarts, which is the best, which just does the job?

I understand, and that's why I assumed people would like to know comparative gaming times! So I will test that when I get my new cart. What battery life do you get on your micro with a normal cart vs the flash cart?

About GBA Flashcarts, which is the best, which just does the job?

I have just ordered an EZ Flash Omega for my GBMicro, I will report back on battery life. (In 1-2 months when it gets here from China, feel free to remind me) @Rune It sounds like you should put a replacement battery in your micro if you're only getting 30 minutes from a full charge...

Will there be a new Everdrive for GBA?

Me too, I would love to see him produce a OEM sized cart. I'm hoping some day I'll have enough to buy one of his flash carts for all of my home systems. @gnmmarechal I'm glad to know it's been a good experience for you. How long have you had it, and do you carry it with you daily, or is it an...

Will there be a new Everdrive for GBA?

@steelseth You're right that it's likely to be fine for real world applications, I'm just trying to determine if there are features on the cart I can disable to save power, just in case I really do want to play it for 4+ hours without charging. I'm bummed there's not a good micro USB mod, I...

Hacking [O3DS + B9S + Luma] Black home screen on boot after sleep mode, no sound

I hope this thread isn't too old to comment on, but I wanted to post a similar problem in case it could help someone in the future. After letting my o3ds sleep for ~2 days in my pocket, I went to turn it back on and got a pair of black screens, I followed @TurdPooCharger 's instructions and the...

Will there be a new Everdrive for GBA?

@steelseth He's not "My guy", I'm not defending him, just simply pointing to the only immediate evidence I see when it comes to this matter, regardless of how effective his testing methods are. It's a bummer the micro didn't get tested in the link you sent. Also a bummer to see people...

Will there be a new Everdrive for GBA?

Thanks for the response, I'm glad you've not had any problems with your EZ Flash carts. I'm following this video for power consumption, and while it might be acceptable, it's certainly not negligible: What are some of the most common problems you've seen with The Omega of the Everdrive?

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
