Hacking SWITCH NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Hi there. I'm currently running SX OS 2.0.1 on a unit that is on 4.1 on SysNAND and 6.1 on EmuNAND. I want to update, can I simply replace the boot.dat with the latest version of SX OS, and update EmuNAND using ChoiDuJourNX and the 7.0.1 OFW file? Do I need to do anything on my SysNAND, or...

I'm on the current setup: SX OS 2.0.1 SysNAND FW 4.1.0 EmunNAND FW 6.0.1 It has been super stable and treated me well, which is why I'm slightly hesitant to update. Anyone have any experience with SX OS 2.0.1 and FW 6.1? Considering updating EmuNAND to FW 6.1 with ChoiDuJourNX...

Hacking SWITCH NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Hi there, I've been using 4.1.0fw and SX OS 1.9 with no AutoRCM, because I had a battery scare some time ago. I want to update to latest SX OS, but stay on 4.1.0 and not burn any fuses. My plan is to restore my (untouched) NAND backup, install SX OS 2.0.1, create EmuNAND, and upgrade EmuNAND...

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
