Homebrew Discussion ALC5639 Datasheet for Nintendo Switch Sound IC for Linux Development

In my research I found that the 5639 is pretty much identical to the 5640. Same footprint, same pinout etc. I confirmed this looking at what runs to and from the 5639 on the Switch mobo. https://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/1132327/REALTEK/ALC5640.html Never did find a proper...

Hardware Nintendo Switch - SD CARD Alternative Points

Unfortunately, that ground pin isn't your problem - there are 7 ground pins on the connector, so unless all of them are broken it's something else. It's pretty common for those pins to break away from the PCB but not the connector, so even if a pin is still there it doesn't mean it's doing its...

    Hardware sd card port issue

Open the "Spoiler: Pinout SD daughter board to points on the front" spoiler in the post I linked to see what goes where.

    Hardware sd card port issue

https://gbatemp.net/threads/nintendo-switch-sd-card-alternative-points.579623/ Good place to start. Your sense pin is the one that's missing. As long as the others are fine you could either solder a jumper wire from the test pad to the SD board as a quick fix or tie that point to ground to make...

Hardware Nintendo Switch - SD CARD Alternative Points

You're correct, purple is CMD. I haven't probed elsewhere on the motherboard but I'm fairly certain all the SD lines go straight to the SoC. You could check the Switchbrew wiki to see if any of the known pad clusters have it but I don't think so. Here's the pinout:

FYI a lot of pins on the connector are ground, so if one of them goes missing it does not necessarily mean you are stuck as long as it was a ground pin that went missing. Then again, you probably aren't reading up on missing pins unless you can no longer read MicroSD cards. :P Can confirm that...

No worries, thanks for trying. Hopefully @uyjulian can dig it up!

Based on some expired links I found, I think the filename is "ALC5639 DataSheet_0.9961.pdf".

I don't suppose either of you still happen to still have this datasheet? I've been looking everywhere and can't find it. The link above is gone as is every other link I found. Trying to see if the Lite has test pads for I2S exposed.

Hacking MatinatorX, creator of DragonInjector and DragonMMC, has been hit by a C&D by Nintendo.

The LCD in the Lite uses the MIPI DSI protocol. There are ICs that exist to convert MIPI DSI to HDMI. My plan is to use the Lontium LT8912B to do so, with a supporting chip to add in headphone audio downstream using a good ADC chip built for that. I'd be using the HDMI hotplug detect feature to...

    Hacking SD car reader down.

Sorry to hear yours died, it seems to be a design defect with the connector. Many, many people have had this happen. MOLEX 504208-1610 is the P/N, you can find at least one seller on Ali who did a listing for me if you want to try fixing it. I'd talk with your local shops and see if they're set...

Hacking DEAD [Shutdown]DragonInjector - Game Cart Payload Injector (Trinket M0 Clone)

That's the plan! They won't fit quite as well as the v20 boards since I moved the hole inwards on the PCB to line it up better with the hole on the shell, but they will work. If you've ever taken apart your v19 you'll understand - it's doable, but it can be a pain to put the screw back in.

Hacking DEAD [Shutdown]DragonInjector - Game Cart Payload Injector (Trinket M0 Clone)

Red won! An injection molding supplier has now been chosen after a lot of consideration (and me learning how to make moldable parts), and a down payment on the mold and some samples has been sent. I should have the sample parts in a few weeks, and if they look good, 1000 black and 1000 red sets...

Hacking DEAD [Shutdown]DragonInjector - Game Cart Payload Injector (Trinket M0 Clone)

Mattytrog is a good guy, as far as I'm concerned supporting his hobbies is just as good for Switch community development as supporting mine. :)

Hacking DEAD [Shutdown]DragonInjector - Game Cart Payload Injector (Trinket M0 Clone)

I've seen a few units have the pressure on the battery loosen over time due to the copper battery contact flattening out, in all but one case tightening up the screw a bit fixed the issue. You'll know if that's the cause by gently pinching the DI while injecting - if that fixes it, it's just a...

Hacking DEAD [Shutdown]DragonInjector - Game Cart Payload Injector (Trinket M0 Clone)

Nothing is ever 100% for sure, but I've done everything I can to make sure my stuff is above board. No one's DI is going to stop working, and the v20 is still on the way. However, going forward, the support I can give will be limited to what the DI and DMMC are meant for, which means...

Hacking WIP DragonMMC - TriNAND, TriSD, Solderless Internal Payload Injector / Kickstand

All data lines are now differentially matched to within 0.001mm, and surrounded by grounds/ground pours. The USB lines now have 20 ohm termination resistors, EMI reduction capacitors and chokes, and ESD protection diodes. I'm using a special IC and common mode choke meant for exactly that.
