    Hardware Custom GBA gallery

I also installed a frontlight kit, it looks nice in the picture but in reality it was almost unplayable. The colors were all washed out and bright, pretty much worse than no light at all.

    Hardware Custom GBA gallery

I thought it would be fun and inspiring to show off each others custom built devices. Heres mine; I installed a backlit screen and painted the case light grey. I was going to give the buttons some color too to give it a SNES/retro look, but I decided not to.

Hardware 40 pin GBA with white tab LCD perfect solution!

Not much excessive solder but i think i soldered to the wrong point of R11. Didnt notice anything before though Edit: i think i found the issue. There is a really thin, almost invisble layer of dried LOCA over the conductors. I installed a frontlight kit before and spilled all over the place.

How about R11 or DA1? They are pretty close to location of the start button on the other side, could it be anything close to there?

Hardware 40 pin GBA with white tab LCD perfect solution!

I did the mod by removing the components on the motherboard and the screen works perfectly. However, the start button doesn't work. Hardware Cleaning GBC and GBA shell/buttons.

Is there a good way to clean the metal area under the buttons? They have become dirty so you have to push really hard for it to react. Is it safe tog wipe with water or alcohol or can it be damaged then?

Hardware 40 pin GBA with white tab LCD perfect solution!

Is it still necessary to solder the wire between the ribbon and the motherboard (P1 to DA1) when doing either malheurs or gaggis mod? Also, can I solder the wire to R11 instead of DA1? I already have a wire soldered to it. Thanks to everyone for doing all the research and instructions to...

Hardware Testing LCD screen without assembling GBA

Hi, I'm going to try to install a backlit screen to gameboy advance. I have a 40 pin version so I will probably have to do some soldering. I'm a beginner at this so what I'm wondering is how to power up the GBA and screen without having to reassemble it and insert the batteries? Do you need any...
