It's not really worth worrying about anymore since full and direct access over USB will be a thing in later versions of Hakchi2. You'll be able to transfer anything then or browse the filesystem and edit things right off the NAND etc

The driver is open source. If someone figures out why they aren't working (Maybe an I2C bus addressing issue?) and patches in support, they could work. But for now, no. It's not a Hakchi2 or retroarch thing, they just don't work with the console at all,

If it's not working it's either broken or unofficial.

If it's an official one it should work with no problems and be already mapped. If it's an unofficial one it won't work with the NES Classic at all for now. Nintendos driver doesn't support them.

If you post the contents of the .desktop file for a game that doesn't load (or even the just the exec line) people might be able to help.

Since the launching scripts take up virtually no space, while some of the cores can be really big, it might be better to include those scripts by default for as many systems you support but only a few actual cores copied into the folder by default. People could drag and drop the cores they want...

Double check the name of the rom file in Hakchi2's game folder.

There is no solution without 8bitdo updating their firmware. They've been very good about that in the past, so if people ask them they might push out a new update. It can't be worked around since as far as the NES Mini is concerned, because of their current firmware, the NES30 is a two button...

Ask 8bitdo over in their forum. Their receiver firmware maps all the buttons as A and B (and turbo A and B) not the NES Mini, Hakchi2 or retroarch.

You might have to rename the rom specifically since Hakchi2 will unzip the archive, but yeah I've had no further problems with my save states on Gameboy, NES or SNES after fixing the rom names.

Don't select automatic if you want to customise the folders. Select "Custom - Show Folders Manager every time" then when you hit sync the folder manager will appear. 1. You can rename them anything you want 2. That's the Folder Manager, don't select automatic folders. 3. In the folder manager...

Solved my save state problem. I found some games just didn't generate saves when leaving the emulator but after checking the roms all the ones that didn't work had a name that an extra "." (e.g Final Fantasy III (U) (V1.1) [!].smc) Hackchi2 does some processing on the name to strip out problem...

Considering the clovercon controller driver is opensource, it might be worth trying to figure out why third party controllers aren't working and adding support in.

Inside that retroarch.hmod file You're better off extracting it (twice if using 7zip) and put all the files and folders into a retroarch.hmod folder that works exactly the same as the archive, only now you can manipulate the files. Cores are in retroarch.hmod\etc\libretro\core and the bash...

Is anyone else getting weird Gameboy save state problems? They work for some games but for others they just don't appear.

It's never going to run N64 full speed, just like Retropie on the Pi 3 and the other boards. Even the Pi3 which is more powerful can't run N64 games well. A couple of the less demanding games work OK and that's about it.

Border cropping is an option by default from the commandline arguments: For example: "--guest-overscan-dimensions 0,0,9,3" As for aspect ratio, there's the only two options that could possibly be considered "correct", and they're builtin, in either 4:3 or the Pixel Perfect mode. You can tweak...

Yeah I'd keep it around 200MB to keep room for all the save states etc. It's all probably temporary anyway since USB support seems to be on the cards in the near future.
