Homebrew RAM editing glitch on any 3DS, might lead to an exploit?

I was going to just open up a hex editor and punch in the ROP file manually, but then I checked the header and noticed he saved it in floating-point format and not integer! Silly goose; not only is the file now twice the size it needs to be, now it's next to impossible to transfer by hand...

Homebrew RAM editing glitch on any 3DS, might lead to an exploit?

Eww, gross, I really don't want to downgrade my SB. Good secondary exploits for 11.0?

I'm not sure if the version really matters, as the most recent is 3.3.1 and the BGSCREEN bug is still present. The memory layout could be totally different though, who knows?

Is the exploit finished? Where do you get it? He hasn't said anything about it on twitter, unless you are all foolin'.

Homebrew So we should buy SmileBASIC

The bug used to launch the ROP is still present on the latest SB version (3.3.1) so you should just go ahead and update. Nba is using 3.2.1 though, so there's always a chance it won't work on the most recent.

Pretty much exactly what you said

Homebrew RAM editing glitch on any 3DS, might lead to an exploit?

That is where you are wrong, my friend. All the DLC commands throw `DLC not found` if you don't own it, regardless if you're running a program someone else made or if you're using them yourself. Petitmodem predated the audio DLC so everything in there works without it. It's some beautiful...

gg, MrNbaYoh. You've done what I thought would never happen ;) not even mad now I just want this thing ALSO, if you buy SmileBASIC I might also recommend the audio DLC pack because who knows if it could become unavailable as well. It's $5 dollars, maybe not worth the money as you need to own it...

Homebrew RAM editing glitch on any 3DS, might lead to an exploit?

Hey guys, calm the fuck down. Nobody has actually found any proof that PTC can even be exploited yet. Are we forgetting that MrNbaYoh is working on exploiting SmileBASIC as we speak? I guess so.

I don't want to be Debbie downer, but having used PTC on and off for around 3 years, I'm not convinced there's any exploit potential anywhere. Not gonna stop you from trying, though.

Homebrew RAM editing glitch on any 3DS, might lead to an exploit?

As trinitro said, there's pretty much a 0% chance of exploiting PTC via this method, because BGSCREEN doesn't exist. Though, this being gbatemp people run off on the slightest piece of info. Good job staying on topic, guys. TL;DR: don't try to exploit PTC you're wasting everyone's time.

The earliest version of SB available in NA is 3.2.1, and yes, the distro server still works.

Homebrew RAM editing glitch on any 3DS, might lead to an exploit?

I'm well aware of the how and why, I just want to know how tobgwt the exploit now tbh It's too late to stop it so let's ride the train out bois ;) EDIT: the RAM editing was a bug, we just entirely avoided reporting it for this exact reason auto The actual bug and tools have been floating...

Homebrew RAM editing glitch on any 3DS, might lead to an exploit?

Excuse my language, but shit hell what have you done I'm the guy who originally discovered that BGSCREEN can open RAM contents (though I didn't originally discover that the command was bugged, it goes further back than me). The bug was really fickle to work with so I never thought it would go...
