Should we assume O3DS owners can use the other Genesis emulators fairly well since Picodrive is no longer included in the latest builds?

Just tested, nope. Still drops and stays at 48-52fps during the fire. Plz no lies.

Adventures of Batman and Robin still drops to 48~fps during the fire in the first stage.

Hello, no I haven't tested any stuff for the O3DS users. I'm waiting until Picodrive really gets a big improvement before I use up a write cycle on my SD card =p I did get further in Sonic 2 though. That game still hates it when you go underwater, frame drop to 48~fps. 3DSX that is, not sure...

If I would be so bold, what are the fundamentals involved when making emulation more efficient? Do you clean up the coding for backgrounds/objects/etc, or is it magic that a magician cannot reveal?

Played Sonic 2 on O3DS some more. The .3DSX version of Picodrive. Plays fine but lags down to 45~fps whenever you're underwater.

Picodrive is getting better on O3DS with .3DSX. The laggiest I've seen it was 49fps as opposed to 42-45fps last night.

Just played Adventures of Batman and Robin with Picodrive on O3DS (.3DSX). Runs 59-60fps until you see explosions. The fire in the building at the beginning of the first level really brings it down to 45fps or so. EDIT: That fire effect in said game can be used as a good reference for...

Picodrive does perform better now on O3DS, but too many objects on the screen cause it to lag like an NES. Drops somewhere around 44fps in extreme cases.

Great work! It runs at a consistent speed now. I only tested it with Sonic 1, but I'm sure most other games work just as well now.

Ah, I should have mentioned that detail. Yes, .3dsx

Two people including me don't have a constant 60fps. Is there any specific setting that has to be adjusted on Retroarch?

Once Picodrive or Genesis Plus GX run 59-60fps on O3DS, I'll be happy. Blargsnes just needs to work it's compatibility, unless catsfc runs better.

Tried out Sonic 1 with Picodrive. I get 60fps, but it dips to about 35-45 often on O3DS.
