Yeah, they work, but it still needs to be removed then reinserted before it turns on. eBay seller apologised but can't exchange it for anything different so I'll just live with it and hope a firmware update fixes it. It's a minor inconvenience for such a great value versatile device.- Pistol

I just bought one off eBay and it also has that issue where it won't power on when the Switch is docked. I've emailed the seller to ask if I can exchange it for another one that has been tested not to behave that way, but I'm not hopeful. I updated it to 1.21 and it made no difference.
