    Wait, does the specific USB port matter anymore? I remember that at one point in time, the HDD had to be in a certain port to play GC games (I always use that port anyways).

    Jellyeggs, try a different loader? You could try loading the ISO directly from nintendont. I had a ton of trouble with GX myself and as a result I ended up finding WiiFlow.

    I prefer the FightPad (works like a classic controller except that it is shaped like a GC controller). Also, the Wii supports a USB hub, at least mine does it pretty well when I need to use a keyboard/USB controller at the same time.
