Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

Sorry, been a long day, didn't read your message properly :P All NZones connect to a central server which then diverts the app to a specific content site based on which SSID you connected via (zone001.nsp.nuserver or something like that, I can't remember) and each one hosts different...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

From my experimentation with with getting content from the zones, you would need to change your Nintendo Network ID country to Germany in order to access the bonus content. Unfortunately, this isn't possible, Nintendo doesn't allow you to change your country. You need to jump through so many...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

This all seems great, but I have a query. Have you actually tried the BestBuy part of the script? The reason I ask is that the 3DS is expecting the Bestbuy Zone to be a protected network with a specific passkey, which you haven't set up hostapd to use. Without that, the 3DS won't connect...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

nzone.exe caches some data on dukes server. I'm not sure what, I don't have access to it, but I think sometimes the caching service needs a reset on his side, and this can lead to users not getting StreetPasses for a little while (or potentially an error such as you received, lordelohim). He...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

If I'm understanding this correctly, you only have one connection on your laptop which is your WLAN, yes? For nzone to work, you need to have two connections, either ethernet and WLAN or WLAN and a USB adapter. You need the one to connect to your WiFi and the other to broadcast the nzone SSID...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

For us to help you, we need a bit more information. What guide did you try? Was it on Windows XP? 7? 8? 8.1? 10? Linux? Mac? DD-WRT? First, lets differentiate between a router and an adapter. A router is the box that provides your home/office with WiFi, usually with 2 or 3 aerials sticking out...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

Well, technically no. duke's nzone.exe uses hostednetwork to create a WiFi AP and does so in a way that tricks the 3DS in to thinking its an authentic Zone, so check it out. Launch a command prompt (Windows Key + R > cmd), and run `ipconfig /all`, which will give you a detailed overview of all...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

Unfortunately, you can't enable WPA security if you want to get streetpasses. However, to enable a form of "security", you should be able to set up a MAC access control list on your repeater and set it to allow only your 3DS's MAC to connect.

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

You have to remember, projects like nzone.exe and XZone are hobby projects. We don't get paid to work on these so our real jobs obviously come first. I can't speak for duke_srg, but I know that I get very little time to work on XZone. XZone is easier to manage than nzone.exe because I know...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

You won't be able to use your 3DS to get the MACs, you'll need a laptop (or an Android tablet/phone I guess, but then you'll have to find an app). On OS X, it's as simple as holding down Option (alt) and clicking the WiFi icon on your Menu Bar. The list that drops down will tell you the BSSID...

It will affect any title, not just specific ones. Myself and another user had it affect Pokémon Rumble World. That's why we recommend disabling and then re-enabling StreetPass for 3DS Sound (unless you want StreetPass hits for that) so it takes that primary position.

Then you most certainly can HomePass. :) If you use Windows, Linux or a DD-WRT/OpenWRT router, check out the link in the first post to grab nzone. If you run a Mac, then click the image in my sig to download XZone. :D

Wrong. HomePass will work so long as your firmware version supports StreetPass relays. :) What version are you on?

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

It's happening to most of us regardless of method or device. I don't know whether it's a HomePass "limitation" or if it has been put in place for International StreetPass Week so there is always a slot open for a special Mii. I honestly can't remember when I first noticed it happening. This and...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

Are you certain it's nzone.exe that is causing the memory leak? From what little I know of nzone.exe, it simply creates a hotspot, spoofs a MAC and sets up a scheduled task. duke_srg would be able to help you better with that than me since it's his baby. :)

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

I've been looking in to this myself and I have tried various different methods for getting the theme. I set my DS region to German, I routed all internet traffic through VPN to a German server, and made sure everything I could change was set to German. Heck, I even pulled my SD card and...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

There is a known bug with StreetPass that will prevent the app in your first spot from getting StreetPasses. Check under System Settings (on your DS) > Data Management > StreetPass Management. If Xenoblade is in the top left slot, it will (for some arbitrary reason) not receive StreetPasses via...
