    I have no experience with this, but doesn't r4i gold support 6.2? Isn't that a newer version than 5.0? I assume they patched more exploits from version 6 to version 7, or?

    Nope. That could be the problem. It should support version 6.2, but I committed the sin of updating it not too soon before I got my r4i gold card, and I am now on version 7.1.0.16 or something.     Exactly. Flashed it, shut it off, took it out, turned it on and navigated to the profile setting. I also tried it without restarting.

    Yep, did that. I was happy to find out I can just play nds roms by dropping them on the microsd though, so that is a plus.

    I'm not sure what "using the grey card" is, but I downloaded the newest wood 4 firmware version and put it in the root dir of the microSD card. It does go into the wood 4 menu and it gives confirmation that it ran. Edit: While I'm talking here, is there a mirror to the 1.51 r4i gold firmware...

    When I go into Nintendo DS Profile it shows me the name, lets me add a note and change the color, but nothing about going into GW Mode. I tried it on 2 SD cards, I reformated everything and started over, I made sure to patch the profile multiple times, but nothing seems to work. What am I doing...

    Did that, but it restores it to an earlier version of 7. I have a friend who has his 3ds on an earlier version and he uses the exact same r4i card, I will try to update my card using his system and then retry it with mine.

    I think I screwed up. I have an r4i Deluxe. I inserted it into my 3ds with an outdated system yesterday, and when I tried to load wood 4 the screen stayed black. I then made the mistake of upgrading the system to 7.somethingrather, and I still have the same problem. Is there any known fix for this?
