They can promise the moon, it does not mean anything. Empty promises were frequent in the DS scene. A lot of stuff possibly happened since that teaser. They are probably working on another device as we speak if history repeats itself.
I didn't try it, but maybe you can identify your Gateway saves which are found in the SD card with 3ds.essh.co (for example 00040000000A8600.sav is Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask EUR) and rename like any other MT-Card save file.
I do not want to be rude but what makes you think that? Why not next Tuesday or Friday, or those one month later? What I mean is that we are clueless and the silence of the Gateway team is not helping. Some pleople bought the Gateway after the team promised the firmware for New Year's eve...
With all the delays, I lost all hope to see the release of the 2.0 update (I've been waiting since October). And with this whole bricking situation, I'm pretty sure they ran away! However, if they do release the 2.0, I'll update ASAP.
Finally some great news for R4i users! Is R4i's FPGA reprogrammable to allow multirom? If not, this is probably their first original work as they can't simply copy the upcoming Gateway update.

MT-card > Gateway
I feel like school, back when I was actually in school, was more entertaining though, because of how much I get to interact with people, hang out with friends, and other stuff like that. All I get to talk to at work is my boring coworkers lol
