Homebrew TWPatcher - DS(i) mode screen filters and patches

I remember there being issues with enabling a lot of patches or some simultaneously due to not having enough space. Can this be solved with the new Luma version that supposedly allows arbitrarily sized TWL_FIRM?

Homebrew TWPatcher - DS(i) mode screen filters and patches

Well, just tried with the 20200903 build, enabled anti-wear patch and rtcom. Booted Resident Evil DS from a cart while holding X, game booted just fine, nothing unusual. Did the same with TwilightMenu++ and it booted like usual, No screen flash or loud pop or shutdown. The same result by...

Homebrew TWPatcher - DS(i) mode screen filters and patches

Just found out about this amazing piece of software when trying to run WarioWare Twisted with gyro controls. Initially I freaked out that my 3ds' ds mode would brick because I use TwilightMenu++ just a little too much. But now, let me see if I understand: the anti-wear patch turned out to be...

Hacking "The system files are corrupted" error exiting Wii Fit Plus

After deleting every single save file and not being able to find what could have been causing the error: I don't get the error when i have about 40 saves on the wii (i used to have 65), maybe try making a backup of your saves and delete a bunch of them. See if it helps. Otherwise, I have no idea.

Hacking "The system files are corrupted" error exiting Wii Fit Plus

I deleted the play_rec.dat file and the problem wasn't gone. What seemed to solve it was deleting the whole 00010000 dir. I'm gonna restore a nand backup again and remove the saves through anytitledeleter one by one and see if anything happens. If only this f* error was easy to reproduce...

Hacking "The system files are corrupted" error exiting Wii Fit Plus

Also, you might wanna check your saves. I just noticed I have a save slot that doesn't show anything and can't be selected. I believe it to be corrupted CoD:Black Ops save data. I have no idea if it is related to something, but who knows. Gonna clean it up. EDIT: It wasn't the save. I think...

Hacking "The system files are corrupted" error exiting Wii Fit Plus

Could be related to it, but im sure its not the main cause. I didn't have this error in 2015 and my old nand also works fine. There's something else to it. Whats the point in solving it this way if you can't play without registering the Balance Board hahaha. :P

Hacking "The system files are corrupted" error exiting Wii Fit Plus

@elenarguez Could you try holding the sync button on the wii so that the balance board is not registered anymore and see if you get the error? Seems absurd but ever since I tried it i can't get the error again. When I register the Balance Board i get the error.

Hacking "The system files are corrupted" error exiting Wii Fit Plus

Checked and my most recent nand backup (the one i was having the problem with) does have a patched system menu ios. IOS80 (rev 16174): Trucha Bug, NAND Access I reverted to the official rev6994 without any patches. Gonna do a few tests and see if it works EDIT: Same problem, its not the...

Hacking "The system files are corrupted" error exiting Wii Fit Plus

Do you mind posting a Syscheck so we can see what our systems might have in common? Here's the current state of my Nand (the one without any hacks except for HB Channel), i haven't been able to reproduce the problem with it:

Hacking "The system files are corrupted" error exiting Wii Fit Plus

Not necessarily, it looks like the WC24 library is responsible for handling the message board. I tried wiping the entire message board and the problem persists. Restored to my oldest and backup, with basically no modifications except HB Channel and the problem hasn't occurred since. Searching...

Hacking "The system files are corrupted" error exiting Wii Fit Plus

Hello everyone, I'd like to chime in and say I'm having the exact same problem Loading WiiFit Plus, from disk or from usb, powering up the balance board and returning to the wii menu results in the "System files corrupted" error. I used to not have this problem in the past (2015 or so), but...

    Hacking USB Loader GX

First of all, I would like to thank Cyan for this awesome app i've been using for years. I'd like to know. Is loading emunand titles usually faster from sd? I have a pretty big emunand (title folder is about 18GB) and loading nes titles from hdd is taking about 10-30s, wiiware titles take more...

    Hacking USB Loader GX

It's not, it occurs randomly even with different Emunands, both on SD and on HDD. Even if it is an Emunand created with modmii or a Wii NAND dump done with USBLGX.

    Hacking USB Loader GX

I finally managed to reproduce the problem. I did it first now by accident. I didn't change anything, but "installed" my SSBB disc. then played a few Wii/GC games for a few days. Yesterday, I loaded La Mulana (Wiiware) and it took a LONG time to create the save file. after that, the slow...

    Hacking USB Loader GX

Not sure if it was this that really solved the problem, but: -I tested a different Emunand with no results, then -Made a backup of the entire usbloadergx folder. Saved it on the hdd root. -tested copying a different version of usblgx i had from another HD, covers, configs and all. -When that...

    Hacking USB Loader GX

Cyan, I have a weird behaviour to report: I have a LOT of channels on my Emunand, exactly 783. I was experiencing a really long load before games, with the disc slot light flashing for around 50 seconds for every VC game before it loaded. Also, Castlevania Rondo of Blood was having issues with...

    Hacking USB Loader GX

Wow, thanks for the detailed explanation! I had installed a lot of different base d2x cIOS because I thought that the cIOS base was likely the determinant factor for some Wiiware games not working. Now that I think of it, only one WiiWare game worked with only base 37. Every other game I tested...

    Hacking USB Loader GX

I had some channels not working too, but that was after I tried loading them with a different cIOS and froze during save file creation. It didn't happen again o Neek2o. An unrelated question: I currently have a lot of cIOS installed. Are they really needed for something (like a few WiiWare or...

Took me a while but now I can finally confirm everything I tested works! This is the best update ever! Thanks a lot Cyan!

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
