Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

I can drop in here and say that I tried everything before going the DD-WRT route.. several Windows methods and different Windows versions (8, 7, XP), Ubuntu/Windows VMs, booting straight to Ubuntu off external devices, etc. Some (most?) USB dongles just will not work properly and won't change...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

You could try the nvram method I posted earlier, but know that it will likely lower the lifespan of your router. Or keep troubleshooting!

Doesn't look like there is a mini build for your router, just the one webflash build. I'd go with that one. Go to the router DB on the DD-WRT site and punch in N10, then click the N10+, and the build is linked there. It's worth a shot -- it could be the issues you're having are due to the build.

22118 is not listed as a supported build for your router. Have you tried using the supported build, 21061? I was having issues getting the scripts to work as well, and it was resolved by reflashing. I was on 21061 big (no dice), reflashed to 21061 mini (works like a charm).

Whoops, I thought you said you had the N10+, it was someone else :) Have you updated the router since it previously worked? Tried a 30-30-30?

Odd, the list you're using shouldn't affect anything -- it's just a different list of MACs it downloads to cycle through. It doesn't affect the script in any other way. For me, the script didn't work on the big build -- I had to revert to mini. Check my previous posts: I had the same issue as...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

In my case, the adapter would remain disabled in the device manager and I'd need to re-enable in manually. Once that happened, depending on the adapter/drivers, a restart would be required, or the dongle needed to be unplugged/replugged in order for the MAC change to take effect. I struggled...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

Update: After much troubleshooting and the very helpful aid of duke_srg, the script is working and the StreetPasses are coming in (without nvram updates)! The issue was with the DD-WRT version I was running, apparently. I was running 21061 big, and after the MAC change, the interface MAC would...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

I do mind :) As I mentioned, not a fan of the method, but it's the only thing that has worked for me so far out of the countless ways I've tried. I'm trying a new method tomorrow and will report back.

Totally agree! I'm not a huge fan of the method, but, it works  I've been pulling my hair out spending several hours a day for a couple weeks now trying and trying different methods to get this to work. Went through four different USB dongles (some with "confirmed working" chipsets) with...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

This script wasn't working for me at all (Linksys/Cisco e1200) along with many many other scripted methods I tried, so I decided to go the cron route, which is now working perfectly for me and the StreetPasses are coming in. With duke_srg's script, the MAC change wouldn't propagate to the WAP...

Tutorial Chaldron's MAC Cycler for Windows

Shoot. Based on your reply, I did some research and went and found/picked up an ASUS USB-N13 B1, which has the RTL8192CU chipset. No dice -- still needs a restart after every MAC cycle. Connects fine, but won't apply the new MAC without a restart, which again won't work with this script.. I'm...

Tutorial Chaldron's MAC Cycler for Windows

Can anyone give any tips for confirmed working USB WiFi dongles to use with Windows 8 x64? I've tried the Netgear WNA3100 and Linksys/Cisco AE6000. The WNA3100 needed to be unplugged and replugged for the updated MAC to take effect (and was just flaky/inconsistent as well), and Cisco works...
