Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

You are getting lots of repeats because nbahomepass does not yet randomize the MAC order, so anyone who is simultaneously shifting with you is going to show up frequently.

Yeah, it worked fine for me today. *shrugs*

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

After the update today, I don't seem to be streetpassing. Is this just a temporary thing (like sometimes happens after an update), or an actual breaking change?

Could we also have a slower cycle time for base16? ie: every 30 minutes to change mac? that way we don't ever cycle into mac addresses twice during an 8-hour period. alternately, an option to do this.

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

What's the cycle time for nbahomepass with base256? I would also suggest: Randomize order of macs. That'll help avoid following everyone and just tagging the same people all the time.

Did you run maccycle from an administrator cmd prompt or did you run it as administrator? You have macshift in the same directory too, right?

Looks like your card/this drivers don't allow for this. You can a) try to find different drivers (good luck/hopefully someone can help) b) Add that virtual MAC to the Personal MACs (as a comment) here...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

You're welcome. Since this is a problem that other people also have (0E to start), you'll be tagging from a smaller pool of gamers who have the same problem. Only other solution would be to find a driver that doesn't have this problem (possibly impossible!), or get a different wifi card whose...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

You will macshift the connection that is your wireless card (not the virtual miniport). At that point, you should go to a cmd prompt and type ipconfig /all Scroll up and check the Physical Address (that is the MAC Address) for the connection that is your wireless connection and for the...

Seems to be either chipset or driver related.

Looks like you haven't turned on sharing via administrator-run cmd prompt (There is no virtual wifi miniport connection in your screenshot) netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

That is why you are getting so many repeats; I am sure there aren't that many homepass users that have a card that shifts the first octet to 1E, so you are mostly getting that small pool of people.

You need to run his maccycler from a cmd prompt that is "run as administrator" or run his cycler as administrator since it uses macshift.

Misc At what interval have you set your SP Relay script?

Depends on what I am doing. If I am trying to get a bunch of quick tags, I generally use 3. If I am going out for an hour-long run, I'll use 5. If I am going to sleep and want some by the morning, I use 45minutes.

Understood that it's the internet. s'why I would post instructions and a 'please change your shirt to match before using these'. It feel like it would at least be worth the experiment. Maybe you get the right shirt color 50% of the time, and that's at least better than the very low...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

So after a bit of using this, I found that a) everyone cycling through the prime MACs means that the 'game-specific' ones are no longer game-specific. b) sometimes it'd be nice to just grab a specific color mii. I would like to propose some ranges for game-specific and color-specific tags...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

Not sure if you are using a router or win7 method or what, but... You can have your router filter by MAC address of the connecting device, but that's not really secure; should be sufficient if you don't leave it on all the time. You can also set up wireless security with a key; you just have to...

Tutorial [HOW-TO] Have a homemade Streetpass Relay

I don't think you are understanding. A router has multiple MAC addresses that it exposes. One of them is the MAC it exposes to the wired LAN. Routers that support MACclone out of the box usually are spoofing that one. That is so that your DSL or Cable Modem will thing the router is a specific...

The 3DS does not stay connected to the internet while in sleep mode (in fact, it switches to streetpass mode). While sleeping, however, it will occasionally check nearby wireless access points. If one of them is in its connections list, it'll check in an grab spotpass data or updates as...
