PS1/2 I'm soo confused by the ps2 modding scene

generally, but if you decide to use an older version of OPL, for support or anything, or even running usb Advance just to see what games it would work with, always safe to have it in that format. sometimes even close to 3.99gb, might have to use it

PS1/2 I'm soo confused by the ps2 modding scene

FTP is good, but sometimes, the long wires might be a hassle, depends on what you can do/run. USB and HDD I've played with quite the bit, both are relatively easy, and I'm pretty sure it won't be that much trouble putting out and in. Take the few days, put all your games on the drive, and that's...

PS1/2 I'm soo confused by the ps2 modding scene

Basically it's like an all in 1. You install it and your ps2 is "modded"

PS1/2 I'm soo confused by the ps2 modding scene

Well HD Loader wise, if you got 8c, that's the last version, however OPL (Open PS2 Loader), does have different compatibility and works with HDD,SMB and USB. The latest version, 0.9 supports dual layer discs (DVD9) images and even support for .iso if you're using USB or SMB. For HDD, install the...

PS1/2 I'm soo confused by the ps2 modding scene

Generally on an all based standard OPL works best, but HD Loader has managed to just about get all the hard or odd games too. In essence their both 100% good and it's just switiching from 1 program to another and their both together under 2mb

PS1/2 Question about Free McBoot for PS2 slim

You can use USB, and no it's compatibility is actually very high. Almost the same as HDD and less complicaded to set up then SMB, also normal disc is faster then burnt disc

PS1/2 Question about Free McBoot for PS2 slim

Well SMB wise last I had herd that's how it worked for OPL 0.8 but I never really got into using SMB. SMB runs a tad faster then the actual disc so usually I'd go with burnt discs or just USB. For the DVD9 Games or some old FPS games using internal HDD is INSANE! 2 times faster then normal disc

PS1/2 Question about Free McBoot for PS2 slim

Well then go for it. It'll work 100%, Memory Card to Memory Card transfer, oh but don't copy the files over from one memory card to another via Sony's browser or using ULaunch.Elf . Use the actual installer and if you do, I'd use SP193's Free McBoot v1.8c

PS1/2 Question about Free McBoot for PS2 slim

Then just go with Memory Card, why waste and have chance of risk of breaking console when Memory Card is much cheaper and you can't mess it up. Sony's ps2 was about as flawless as you could get. The only way to destroy it would have to be Hardware wise. Software wise it was based off linux...

Yeah but I'm pretty sure he has to install Free McBoot first. He's asking from beginning of setup not from launching it at the end

PS1/2 Question about Free McBoot for PS2 slim

The Game Swap mathod may be easy, but chance of F***ing up or messing stuff up is high and it deteriorates console and you'll probably do the same with disc. If you seriously want to do it and you have a game you can do it with and don't mind messing up one of the best consoles in the entire...

PS1/2 Question about Free McBoot for PS2 slim

PS1/2 I'm soo confused by the ps2 modding scene

Any HDD as long as it's IDE. Also it would have to be formatted by HD Loader already, so if you just put in a normal hdd it'll read but be unacessible and considering you haven't modded the system before you use it=unusable. You can mod your ps2 using various methods, an exploited game I'm not...

PS1/2 Question about Free McBoot for PS2 slim

For the HDD I'm not too sure but it's IDE and only 40gb. If you did well you'd be able to play it, but the partition/drive would have to be called PS2SMB and it has to be directly on it, not on Desktop

PS1/2 Question about Free McBoot for PS2 slim

It's hackable, and for your fat ps2, you should install hdd in the back of it, or use Free McBoot Memory card and install free McBoot to another Memory Card or just use that one memory card on both. With Free McBoot you can play games off USB, SMB (network) or for fat ps2 HDD (best results, and...
