Hardware N2DS XL uses a better TN panel?

Yeah it was a nice "oh maybe this is the reason" thought at the moment, but looking again today... if that was the case the IPS panel would show a similar degradation. I've heard all sorts of weird explanations for the difference between IPS and TN, one fellow trying to sell me a TV tried to...

Hardware N2DS XL uses a better TN panel?

Doesn't the 3D effect require something extra on the top screen? Something that wouldn't need to be present on the 2D screen?

    Hacking Luma3DS - Noob-proof 3DS Custom Firmware

Sad but I don't blame 'em for it. These types of more public places tend to fill up with either people who don't read the existing documentation and expect personalized service like they paid you for it, or trolls that seemingly feed on negativity. Not saying I don't appreciate GBATemp for what...

    Hacking Luma3DS - Noob-proof 3DS Custom Firmware

I was more considering early days programming CPLDs for NDS and using a GBA cart to get things going, or building toolchains for PS2 /xell on xbox 360, than wii-u. Can't say I ever used rebug, my PS3 is still on that first 'unofficial cobra' firmware released with the plugin support and I've...

    Hacking Luma3DS - Noob-proof 3DS Custom Firmware

Just throwin' this out there... I was given a n3ds xl about a week ago (first time I've ever actually held a 3ds), followed the instructions on 3ds.guide to get luma, gm9 and friends on there via soundhax... and I feel outright spoiled. Kid in a candy shop. It didn't take me weeks of reading...

I'd agree, but it looks to me like they do have test points for the cart and sd card slot so...

Hardware New 2DS XL Motherboard Pictures

If they are able to boot via the card slot/magnet stuff, there is no need to use test access points at manufacture - a pre-loaded mfg cart, or a cart plus SD card could do. That said test access points are generally used to automate QA/QC so they don't have to wait until everything is assembled...

I used to do a lot of NDS, and later PSP tinkering. Most active here, ezflash, neoflash, max and probably a few places I've forgotten. Still take the odd crack at various ARMs, just not active much on forums these days.

Hacking Incoming Wii U update 5.5.2

I get that FSGetMountSource error using the latest HBL, going to an older HBL solved it for me (on the same sd card without reformat). I keep forgetting to retry the newer one now that I have haxchi on there, as it might just be related to the payload I use with that older PC based java server...

Homebrew Nintendo now has a 3DS bug bounty page open

The guy who got paid far too much to write it, who was instructed to write it in exactly such a way that their main target audience (children and their busy parents) will never understand it  That such things are supposedly legally binding when you have no alternative to opt-in bescause...

Hacking Now that theres IOSUHAX - can my USB drive be swapped between my WiiU's?

Why not just disable encrypt/decrypt, format the drive with no crypto (or use some pc program and decrypt it) and have it work on any hacked console? Might even see a minor speed boost with encryption disabled. edit:/ what file system is under the encryption anyway? Some custom one?

Hacking Hexkyz: "Anatomy of a Wii U: hexFW"

Yeah I had the same fail with anpack, I just gave it the other fw.img.full.bin instead of fw.img and it was happy. Didn't add any keys though so maybe that was the issue  no idea if the resulting image it built is usable

Hacking Hexkyz: "Anatomy of a Wii U: hexFW"

Keep in mind, you do have to reboot or at least re-logon if you change environment variables, confirm your changes took via 'echo %PATH%' on command line - but yes its basically looking for your posix base like that thread mentions. I was able to build it just fine right now using msys2 as the...

Hacking Android app for self hosting exploit 5.5.1

I've been using the mp4 to launch hombrew launcher from the package in this thread via this android app: http://gbatemp.net/threads/5-5-1-5-4-0-5-3-2-self-hosting-package-everything-in-one-zip-file.424679/ with much more success - out of dozens of tries I've not had a crash yet, whereas with the...

Hacking Android app for self hosting exploit 5.5.1

Working good here too, thanks again scognito! if you care for a noob opinion (I don't do android dev) from the log I got it almost seems like you are giving us an apk with binaries built for "instant run" which I'm not sure was supported on older versions of the OS, thus are linked to that...

Hacking Android app for self hosting exploit 5.5.1

scognito: http://pastebin.com/NPcf9DPv logcat via an app called 'catlog' on a nexus 7 2012 running android 4.4 where it seems like its going to open, but instead immediately gives a "Unfortunately, SuxServer has stopped" dialog. Dunno if that helps any though...

    Hacking PowerPC Assembly Compiler?

afaik without -mregnames it expects either %r0 or (possibly, on ppc you can use 0 for a zero-offset-instead-of-register-with-zero-in-it for some instructions) 0 for register names, where with it you can also use r0 If you want to generate position independent code (ie: you don't have to specify...

Hacking Dumping Wii U NAND via SD card adapter

ahaha... if Ray's profile wasn't private and I had signatures turned on (or the inclination to turn them back on and make this place look more Akhibara street sign again) I believe this is the link this thread is discussing... if not someone who can see the sigs will surely correct me...
