It wasn't dropped. Jam told me a couple of days ago that he still intends to get the patch finished. I don't have any more information than that for you, though.
Jam was playing EDF 4.1 at the end of May, so I presume he's still alive and well. I'll send him a message to let him know that people are missing him.
This year I'll be taking part in #JRPG2016, a gaming event where we compete to see who can clear the most JRPGs from their backlog before the end of the year. With so many great-looking JRPGs releasing this year, it seems like a good time to get around to beating those older ones.
Anyone can...
I often wonder how much of PSP2(/i)'s development Alfa System should be credited for, and how much was done by Sonic Team/Sega. I know it used PSU as a base, but it plays way more smoothly than PSU ever did and I get the feeling that Alfa System is responsible for that and that Sega only acted...
That's what we're working on now. We think it is possible as things stand at the moment, but we can never know for sure what roadblocks we might run into.
Last I checked, official online support for Infinity was scheduled to cease at the end of September. PSP2i's Adhoc Multiplayer mode can be played on PPSSPP with other users, but it doesn't work properly (or at all) on Windows 7.
The current plan is to look at "DL" missions after everything in the main game has been translated and inserted and considered finished, and we're not making any promises. However, if it is possible to translate DLC, we'll only translate content that is available for free.
I have at least 5 Infinity Extend Codes and never rebirthed a character. I think you get some the first time you go into one of the DLC trade missions.
You can continue to play PSP2 after importing the save into Infinity, but you can't make progress in Infinity and then transfer that save back to PSP2.
They're not so bad if you carry a gun and set your NPC party members to "Follow Shift" (No. 5). I hate that new crab boss... Ziel Goug, I think it was called? It has way too much HP.
You should know that, if you're planning on downloading an illegal copy instead of ripping from your own UMD, it's likely that some files will have been altered or removed from that copy in order to keep the overall size down and that would prevent the patch from working correctly.
PRO Online is custom firmware that enables PSP 2000s and 3000s to connect to coldbird.net and play adhoc multiplayer via the Internet. PSP2(/i) does work with it though, there's video proof of it on Youtube.
