Hacking Can you please advise which modchip this is

It's definitely a picofly chip since it uses an RP2040 board. There are no hardware versions of this mod, and we obviously can't tell you the software version flashed on the chip from the picture. The software version should be pretty much irrelevant though, as long as the chip is working. The...

Hacking Broken OLED Switch - Reuse emuMMC

Hi all, I'm extremely frustrated right now and I'm honestly just hoping someone here can help me. So I've pre-ordered a Zelda ToTK Special Edition Switch last year and installed a Hwfly basically immediately opening the package. It worked fine until, idk. winter 2023 I'd say when I started...

    eMMC cover breaks dat0 connection

It's still weird, though. The choice of wire shouldn't matter that much for the DAT0 point as long as you're making a good connection. Let me just verify a few things: When you remove the wire from the DAT0 adapter and measure with the black probe on a GND point and the red probe on the C point...

    eMMC cover breaks dat0 connection

In general I would strongly recommend not to use AWG30 wires for this mod. You might even get away with it for the DAT0 signal and the RST line, but for CLK and CMD I strongly advise against it. I can recommend these wires (AliExpress), specifically the AWG36 ones. I think these are recommended...

    eMMC cover breaks dat0 connection

Well do you have continuity between GND and C if you measure in continuity mode? If so then there is definitely something very wrong and that would confirm my assumption that you're shorting DAT0 to GND somehow

    eMMC cover breaks dat0 connection

yeah that should work, too. You can always cut the traces, too, if you have an x-acto knife or something like that

    eMMC cover breaks dat0 connection

Ahhhh I may have an idea. I'm sorry but can you remove the DAT0 adapter again? There are two test points below where the flex is which are connected tom GND. These test points are said to cause signal issues in some scenarios. Sthetix solves that by cutting the traces to those test points with a...

    eMMC cover breaks dat0 connection

I don't know if it's the picture or not but your wire looks pretty thick or at least the insulation does. What gauge is it? I'm just trying to rule out that the shield breaks through the insulation of the wire and causes a short.

Hardware Switch OLED witch eMMC error *=* (Change the mmc?)

From my understanding you can boot into Hekate with just a blank eMMC. That should be enough for Hekate to create a valid partition table on the eMMC and will likely be enough to boot Atmosphere. However, there will definitely be caveats to this. If you don't ever restore a backup of the...

    eMMC cover breaks dat0 connection

Can you post a picture of how you're routing the wire through the eMMC shield?

What will happen if one of those 5 lcd data lines on the switch lite has a solder bridge? Would there be an lcd issue or not?

Of course there will be issues. Depending on which lines you bridge you'll either only have signal issues or you might fry your entire screen. Solder bridges always cause issues, I feel if you're asking that question you shouldn't be soldering around in your Switch in the first place, not gonna lie.

Feedback Hardware PS1/2 OPL stuttering on HDD loaded games, some display double. Was working fine before

Hmmm this might be difficult to debug. First off some questions just to know what we're dealing with: Are you using an official network adapter with a 3rd party SATA adapter or are you using a completely 3rd party network adapter? What brand is your HDD and how old is it? Which HDD dock are you...

where should i begin with the 2d metroid games?

Huge Metroid fan right here. I would personally start with Zero Mission because it's the beginning of the story and also, you know, an extremely good game. I wouldn't recommend starting with the original Metroid on the NES or Metroid 2 on the Game Boy because those two are VERY barebones. Play...
