    chintoi, Dirbaio, thanks, I think the approach you mentioned is what I'll use, if i can get it all working fine. As current, I've loaded a few sprites using this method so far it it seems alright. Since it forces 256color and I'm using 16, i thought I'd be clever and only load the first 16...
